has anyone heard the new album? is it any good?

Yeah, the Dot Allison lp is great. More minimalist and retro than the previous one, and the New Order comparisons stem largely from the old equipment she's obviously using (sound closest to PC&L, IMHO), but it comes recommended from these quarters.

Yup, "We're Only Science" is the opener: it pretty much indicative of what the LP as a whole sounds like, so if you weren't impressed by that (or, indeed, "Substance") I'd steer clear....

I got 'we're only science' on a free c.d. with 'Muzikism' wasn't impressed nor was I by the last album 'Afterglow'. One Dove though remain one of the highlights of the early nineties for me, so nice to see them getting a few mentions at long last.

Hank, If you're into "One Dove" then you just might be interested in Jim McInvens new project "Dr Honda" . Jim was in "Berlin Blondes", "Altered Images" & then "One Dove" before creating his latest project. I designed the sleeve for the 10" only release "Don't Sleep Much" which was critically aclaimed by Radio 1 amongst others.
