Anyone have anyideas if Gillian will be playing the Finsbury gig or is hers and Steve's little girl still unwell?

If she does appear, it'll probably just be for a walk-on part on Blue Monday or something, I should imagine. Why there's never been any official line on this, I really don't know. Suffice to say, it's safe to assume she's actually gone for good.

Not sure how ill her daughter ever was, but both daughters appeared Down Under at the end of the Aussie tour.

I hope shes not gone for good as you say as she is an essential part of New Order. As far as I can tell New Order dont sound as good live without her guitar and keyboards. Life comes before art though

Whoah there! I never said she was an 'essential part' of New Order. To be honest, I don't think she's been missed at all.

My current grievances are the reworking of BLT, Touched, etc, but they've been around since 98 and are more the fault of Roger Lyons - has he not HEARD the original Bruvvahood BLT?! Or was it simply too difficult for him to program?

If Gillian don't care about the Order either way, then I've no concern about that. Each to their own, I guess. Least her hubby's still bangin' them drums.

think thats just syntax - he is saying hope she's not gone for good as you say - comma - as she is an essential part etc.

would be interesting to know how much input she had into song writing though...

I'd like to see her there...just for "old times sake"...but as far as the music goes...I don't think her presence is sorely missed...unless she has some part in us not getting to hear the perfect kiss...

It´s indeed a very good question, it would seem that Get Ready was singlehandedly written by Barney, and at times it sounds more Electronicish than Neworderish. I for one miss a bit more loopy sinthetisers (not sure about the spelling, though)

We need her back for the piano bit in TBTHOG.

Well, whan i spoke to her at that "Ladies night" thing after 24hr Party People, she said it was very unliekly she'd be playing. Someone suggested Old Trafford to her as it would be nearer home and when i pressed her on this she still seemed unlikely.... I said to her "See you at Old Trafford" and she replied "Yeah, backstage!"

So, i guess Jarvo is right, she appears to have gone for good... Liv

that just sucks...it somehow doesn't seem like a real reunion if all the members aren't there...eventually! i'd like to think she's a integral part of NO (it's my feminist sentiments again...) but i don't think she is. she's almost like a long term session musician, easily replaceable. i really hope i'm wrong about that...

She'll be missed a wee bit:nod: But Mr Cunningham has come in and done an excellent job IMO, just looking forward to another faultless performance:thumb:

I like Gilliam a lot but lets see the thing like they really are: She does not play guitars very well. Very often the guitars are very low and without energy. She's better in keyboards but as I said before, she's lazy and make a program for most of the lines that she should play. I think that she is very important in writing the lines and NO would be perfect if got a permanent base guitarrist.

Think Hooky might be a wee bit pissed off with you Luis;) Lead guitarist mate:thumb: I've said it before on here, the best "sound" I have heard from New Order was at Liverpool's Olympia:nod: with Phil & Billy adding to the others - it was fookin fantastic! I was up on the balcony - which may have enhanced the sound - dunno.......but it was a Wall of Noise that night - and that noise was fookin great mate:nod:

I think Phil is an awsome guitarist ... Really gives them that extra punch playing live ... I love Gillian, would be great seeing her up on stage but in a live scenario, shes just not up there (well on guitar anyway) with Phil ... I think they used to turn her amps down so low when she used to play so you couldn't hear her mistakes ...

I still love you Gillian !!!!

I got this image in E-bay. There was a guy selling this card and he put the picture online for everyone to see. Actually, I haven't got the card itself.

I've got them all somewhere, plus a band one. Free to a good home when I find them !

We need Gillian back to stare at the dials and turn that particular one for Perfect Kiss, otherwise, well, it won't be the same again.

I used to have those Smash Hits books where you get to stick the stickers inside next to the bands bios ... Wow that was fun !! (for an 8 year old). Nothing like having a Mel and Kim sticker ....
