My Brotherhood died RIP

Decided a little to late to put ny NO on the HD. When I opened up the jewel case for Brotherhood I discovered a disc that was in advance stage of oxidation. Although the disc was not scratched or pierced the metal inside was full of holes.

This is the first cd of mine that has died in this fashion.

The bad production on the album must've carried over to the physical CD production itself.

The same thing happend to my original qwest (however it is spelled) pressing. I'm still kicking myself that I didn't get one of the original Nimbus ones instead as I did with my other New Order cds.

Was the rotten Brotherhood disc pressed by PDO?

..you might be able to get a free replacement.

I have a PDO Nick Drake CD which has gone the same way. However, my Brotherhood is minty mint as it is an original pressed by Nimbus.

Egads, this is terrifying!

My copy of Republic went the same way, it started turning yellow then the quality dropped quite a bit.

Well, it is a bit of a patchy album, imo... Now if the holes removed everything but tracks 1, 2, 3 and 6, it wouldn't be all that bad...

RIP is no bad thing in my book. Its not really an album I'd recommend to anyone (unlike PCL or Low-Life). Very disjointed effort and sounds laboured.

IMO.

Brotherhood's a great album, luckily none of my cds have gone this way yet
