For some reason my iPood has taken a real liking to Such A Good Thing, it has leapt to No.1 in the oldmonkey playlist ahead of Turn and Sirens. Must admit the track is growing on me too, tune-wise it is classic New Order, and the lyrics aren't quite as shit as some of the efforts around the same era.
What say you good people of NOOLand?
Didn't even play it when it came out. Then I put some songs from Retro on my iPod and it kept popping up. Quite a grower. I think Barney wanted it on Retro so obviously liked it but it wasn't played live. Shame.
It's track 1 on the compilation currently in my car. Nice solid tune, good bass line. OK the lyrics are a bit trite (but remember it was written specifically as a theme tune to Radio 5's World Cup coverage), so I don't understand the general hostility towards it.
Yeah, the "getting up at midnight just to watch the game" line always made me chuckle given its purpose as a radio theme tune"

Actually, I find it to be quite a catchy little choon...but by the same token, I also like Guilt is a Useless Emotion and RTS...

If its 2002 then is misleading. Games were 7am and mid-day. Unless you take it that Barney was in the States "getting up at midnight, just to see the game"?
One of those i'll have to dig out to give a genuine comment. Haven't probably heard it since 2002! 
Classic example of a classic facet of New Order's brilliance, if you ask me. It's supposed to be a throwaway pop song, but it's so fantastic that you don't want to throw it away.
That said, I've not heard it in ages. I'll put it on my-pod tonight.
Isn't this only available on the World in Motion single? I'm ashamed to say I've never heard the entire song.

Haven't heard it in a while but I love it.
It's upbeat and happy without being cheesy or fake. And there's nothing wrong with the lyrics.

I, however, still think it's cack. 
I don't think it's classic New Order, although it is typical of most of the stuff they've done since Regret... pop, basically. The lyrics/vocals do put me off slightly, I have to say, but it's a nice upbeat track so no complaints from me.
I think it is one of the best they´ve done recently and a bit related soundwise to Here to stay. As typical quality New Order song it may sound a bit basic and follow pop trends at first listens but a real grower. I didn´t even like Regret at first so it is same for SUAGT. Top class. If I dare say it puts all on WFTSC to shame, maybe apart from the title track.

Think its a great pop song in the Regret/Krafty mould.
Lyrics are a bit throw-away, but so what? It's the vocals that make this song
I never heard it too. It must be a good track with positive feedback. i dont hear the rare b-sides like MTO or SAGT

Actually both are nice little pop songs, not groundbreaking but are the band having fun and not trying to meet some sort of expectation... I like them better than many of the songs off of their last two albums.

I remember raving about this track back when it came out and everyone said it was just some throwaway pop shit. Now a few years later, I'm sick of the song and people are finally warming up to it...? It's still throwaway pop shit, but funny what a difference a few years can make, especially with no promise of new material in the future.
