After this same recording circulated around dimeadozen and other sites a couple weeks ago, I expected to see it popping up on ebay, but now Amazon's gotten into the act:
Please tell me this isn't an official release. It is interesting and I'm glad to have it, but if this stuff is released while the treasures hidden in Gretton's archive and Hooky's basement never see the light of day . . .

No it isn't an official release from Joy Division. "Interstate Records" have acquired the license to release this, as they did the "Leigh Festival" and "Let The Movie Begin" releases last year, but that doesn't strictly make them official releases sanctioned by the band, as far as I am aware. This material didn't come from the band.
I bought a copy, despite having obtained the music for nowt via the link on this forum a while back.
I'd enjoyed the working mixes, and wanted to have a copy that wasn't on fragile CDR, without leaving the FLAC files on my hard drive.
Yes, bootleggers are ripping us off, and we should all share the music for nothing once we've got it, but I've done that on the torrent site, and I can't help it if I've got more money than sense.
Still...it's worth a tenner, I reckon.
