Am i the only one who's a bit dissapointed they haven't used the original Joy Division music in the film?

It’s was big day for Dutch photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbijn. Because it was the world premiere of his first feature film Control. Control is a film about Joy Division, and especially their singer, Ian Curtis. Corbijn’s dream just gets bigger and bigger because the film has been received particularly well here by the international press. Even the American professional journal Variety, I wouldn’t say they’re exactly friends of art film, are wildly enthousiastic. They are speaking of an exciting and visually attractive portrait.

Yesterday your film premiered here, how did you experience this? Well, it was a very special day and evening for me, because it’s the first time you share the film with others. Also with the actors, no one had seen it yet. It’s a very different perception to see the film this way. On one hand I was a bit sad, on the other hand, not just relieved but also very happy, because I saw the public stuck to the film; The response was right at the moment I had hoped for response.

Have you read any reviews? A couple, the Times, the Liberation… And how was it? Yeah, it was all extremely positive, yes. You’re acting almost stoical, but it must move you in some way. Oh, it’s fantastic, I mean… I don’t know, it’s almost a dream world, people are so positive about the film, they want and can see so much in the film.

I think it's cool they got them to be a band for the film and not just pretend. Hearing studio tracks over a 'live performance' is jarring. They did that with most of The Filth and the Fury, which I thought was unfortunate, unless the footage had no sound to begin with.

Yeah, it adds to the authentic feel and speaks of the dedication level of the actors. Although watching the SLC scene the old fireproof theory was confirmed once again: it's easy to imitate Barney and Hooky (once you've heard them play, that is), but Steve's metronome is a whole different nut to crack.
