Control has won the Cinema's label for best European debut film. This is what the jury said:
The price is distributed Friday evening.
The jury praises Control, a film concerning the events which led to the suicide of Joy Division-singer Ian Curtis, as een impressive debut which can speak a general public to, and not only musiclovers. The interest of foreign distributors for Control is large. The film has been since the premiere already sold to more than ten countries. Also the criticisms of the international film press were extremely praising. Corbijn compete's Sunday to win the golden the camera, the price for the best debutfilm which has been shown in Cannes.

Edit: The price is granted by owners of large film theatres in Europe which are specialised in art films.
UPDATE: Control has won another prize at the Cannes festival,namely the Regards Jeunes,dont know what it stands for, but wtf two awards already.hiha
