We've got Hooky saying various bits and pieces through myspace, etc., but Bernard hasn't come forward yet. I know he was reluctant for years about talking to the press, do people here think he's retreated again? I wonder if he's genuinely surprised, confused, or hurt by the current situation, or was already expecting it back last autumn.

Who knows anymore.Haven't there always been fights between barney and hooky? Barney is smart for not talking to the press because as you see the media/press can be a bunch of idiots and blow shit out of proportion.not to remind people of their age but - barney-51,hooky-51,stephen-49, and phil-well-he's got more fuel.would it really matter if they broke up anyway considering they've accomplished a lot and maybe its time to move onto other things?

Fair enough. My question was more like, will he stay mum indefinitely, or within six months time will he offer up an assessment/state his future plans? I wouldn't be surprised if he took a good chunk of time off from the music business.

Lets face it, Hooky hasn't really told us anything, he has created a few headlines and started lots of rumours but we are non the wiser as to what has actually happened within New Order to get to a point where they can no longer continue.
and to add to Gary, isn't Hooky a bit of a media-whore? He likes to make headlines. So while I have no doubts he has his frustrations about the band, I also seeing him enjoying the media attention on this. Helps remind him that NO is still alive an well in the public eyes.

Too true, Hooky is a Media Whore. Add to that: Drama Queen.
For once in my adult life I actually feel a bit sorry for Barney and Steve. Fcuk knows what they're supposed to do with the New Order brand now. Doesn't have the same impact sans Hooky, does it? Shame.
I reckon if Hooky leaves, they should get Gillian back into the band, it would be disapointing to only have two of the original lineup.

... That's the most sensible thing anyone's ever said on this topic which is like diarrhoea i.e. just runs and runs. I think they've done shitloads and personally am happy just to wait and see and be grateful.
