Hello all,

This is my first post to this board. I am very excited that there are many other who enjoy New Order as much I do.

I will be flying to london next week to see New Order at Finsbury Park, Believe it or not, This is going to be my first New Order Gig, I am very excited.

I would like to know what to expect at Finsbury Park, This is also going to be my first trip to london. Any information or tips about the Venue would be greatly apprciated.

Thanks Guys.

see look...yet another American flying in...oh wait...well, another person flying in from the States...

first off...welcome!!! But what took you so long to find our little corner of the internet???

I can't tell you what to expect at Finsbury, but from what I've heard, it's exactly what it says it is...a park...so of course, it probably won't be the best setting accoustics wise...but a bunch of drunken New Order fans should more than make up for that...

oops...lunch is calling...be back soon!!!

It's not a venue, as such. It's just a Very Big Park.

Imagine a stage in the middle of the park with a few stalls around. Er, and that's about it. I wish I could big it up, but I can't.

As for what songs to expect, read the Paris threads! ;)

One point to remember though: when the Order did a similar gig virtually 15 years to the date (plus 3 days, for all pedants) it was MISERABLE in London and, despite the gig being in a covered tent, the entrances and half the venue (the half that wasn't covered in flooring) made for a virtual MUD-BATH. So an outdoors Finsbree could be tres interesting this time around! Especially considering the Pogues' fans will be kicking their heels there the very day before!

It will either be pissing with rain (highly likely!) or so bloody hot they will end up cancelling half the acts cause people will be dropping like flies suffering from heat exhaustion!!

On the other hand it may be a nice sunny day but by the time NO come on in the evening it will have switched and be pissing down so hard that the field will turn into a mudbath!!

Thanks for the welcome!

I actually been a member of this site for some time now, but I've never posted to this board. This site overall is just wonderful. I saw the set list for the Paris show, Lot's of Joy division songs. I was surprised to see digital, one of my favorites from JD. Looks like a good set, though I was hoping for more New Order Classics.

Actually, I guess you can't get anymore classic than JD
