Steve and Gillian on BBC 1 tonight, talking football!

Anyone see the world Cup programme on beeb tonight? between clippets of the footie action and events of italía 1990 Steve's mad typically ironic dry comments on the situation while Gillian giggled uncontrably by his side... usual stuff really :)

Seemed awfully odd to me that she was participating if as many people specualate she actually has left the band... I assume she is still part of NewOrder as the interview clip footage is certainly not very old at all... looks like it could even be a matter of months!

Thought it was a bit of a travesty they didnt play WIM during the 1990 bit though, that to me was surely the only reason Steve and Gillian appeared on the programme!! as it was the music was all haccy and baggy.

Surely they could have bought on Hooky, Barney or even (perish the thought) Keith Allen, as had Gillian had left the band then it wouldnt make sense to introduce her as a musician in the group New Order now would it!!

She obviously wants the door left open and with Steve in the band its hardly surprising that there not attempting to close it behind her...

they never actually said they were from the order, just that they were musicians...

did you see mrs doyle from father ted on the oirish bits? she looked a little different to say the least!

actually it was shocking that that wasnt shown as they had an extended bit on del bloomin mitri with their dont come back too soon song.

I loved the bit where they we're talking about the scottish world cup theme "don't come home too soon" and stevie said "they should have called it don't even bother going"

Yea true, i cant say i partically remember what the caption was for Gillian & Steve but even so i assumed it was a WIM connection that got them on the show, they've never been huge fans of the national game have they?
