Just wondering when and why Hooky stopped playing with his back to the audience and began lurching round the stage in black leather. I've always been a huge fan of the detached menacing presence he adopts with the bass.

I saw them live in '81 and next in '83 and the change was remarkable - gone were the shirts & ties and the intense, shy stage behaviour and in were casual clothes and a relaxed, confident attitude (and, yes Hooky had turned around and was postively thrusting that bass) - I guess that's what drugs do for you.
