Rowetta Satchell (born 5th January 1966 in Manchester, England) is an English Black Jewish singer.

Rowetta is most noted for her appearance on series 1 of The X Factor in the UK, in which she came fourth after Tabby Callaghan, G4 and Steve Brookstein. The exposure got her a record deal, and her first solo album Rowetta was released in October 2005 on Gut Records.

Rowetta's musical career began as a professional pub singer, before progressing to releasing two singles with the Vanilla Sound Corp in 1987, whilst appearing as a backing singer on numerous songs. During this time, she released two songs - Back Where We Belong and Passion. In 1988 she collaborated with Dynasty of 2 on the single Stop This Thing. Her biggest idol is Diana Ross who inspired her to become a singer.

Rowetta continued to work as a backing singer during the late 1980s and 1990s, including providing backing vocals for Inner City and for Simply Red's Stars album. Rowetta continues to tour extensively throughout England and will tour Japan in May 2007 to promote her track HOUSE 69, with Sugiurumn. In June 2007, Rowetta will make her musical theatre debut, at The Palace Theatre, Manchester in The Best Of Broadway, alongside Suranne Jones.

Check the picture carefully. On Sarah's ring finger (left hand) there's a large diamond ENGAGEMENT ring! Barney was married before, remember, during Joy Division and into the 80s with the Order. I think the Washington (?) pants incident help see that one off! Best of luck to the happy couple.

Well, I have to admin WenOrder has a better memory than I have.

Looks like it was a low-key pub wedding.

Now mine was minimal (like the Pet Shop Boys' song). I just stepped pu in front of a county judge / lawyer (?) and repeated my swear in presence of total 4 people, including me, judge, spouse and a weird witness. After that we went to a pizza hut, I think, to celebrate. Hmm yeah.
