Has anyone booked their hotels for the July gig yet?

I haven't been to Funchester for nearly 10 years. Whats the best bet?

I was thinking city centre but Old Trafford is pretty far, is it not?

Any info gratefully received.

Bloody expensive though!!!

Your best bet is aiming for somewhere nearer the gig, as you can always get into town on the Metro. Try areas in Stretford, Old Trafford itself, Altrincham, or even Sale. I'd offer you floor space at mine fella, but half of Manchester appear to be staying there at the moment!!!

Let me know if you need me to do some exploring for you to find hotels!

Indeed, there was a Malmaison in Edinburgh where I used to live and was a tad on the pricey side but very plush.

Liv - can you get a metro from the city centre to Old Trafford?

We're coming up on the Fri night.

Yeah, metros run from Piccadilly Gardens or Market Street about every 5 mins, until about midnight ish. You need the Altrincham line, and it will drop you about 2 mins from the ground...

I've stayed in the Ibis, and the Piccadilly Gardens hotels on recent trips to Mancland. Both reasonably priced.

Which reminds me ... must get something sorted. . .

Stayed in the Malamison for the MEN '98 show. V. nice indeed. Stayed in the Edinburgh version not two weeks ago and got a room for 80 quid which was very reasonable. I'd guess the Manc rates won't be that different. Just don't go near the mini bar (£6 for a ready mixed G&T).
