:abovelol:

It'll be a culture shock for some! I lived in Corby for 26 years and it still shocks me when I go back for a visit. I hear the old Welfare got burned down. Was it an "accident"... :D

Hope ya have a good night! :thumb:

If I can get a lift there and back, then yes. Otherwise no, as much as I would like to be there.

Would like to make this my first, because i think it may actually be the last get together that might happen now the other things happened.

Alas, i'll be out the country that weekend. Im off for 2 weeks after that though, you dont wanna postpone a week do you?

Want to go but haven't solved how i'm going to get there yet :\ohwell:

Maybe but realistically, looking more like a 'no'

Would like to and will be driving up the M1 that day anyway, so hopefully yes.

I take it its still a pay on the night affair?

That's my son's due date so I'll give it a miss :baby:

My birthday so i'll be on my holidays, so i'd have to say no, although i would've loved to check Corby out, there are some interesting adverts on the tube station in London advertisng corby as 'the place to live from £185,000'

I'll be there. No idea how I'll get there, but I'll manage. I've arranged for three ex-SAS lads to accompany me, do you think that will be enough?

I'm thinking about hot-footing it back up to Aberdeen the following day as Hooky is DJing at Drummonds. Probly not though, will just hang around darn sarf.

But what are the chances of that, eh?

Reg has bottled it. He's a no-show. His legs have gone and he's shat it.

He's heard Corby's 10x worse than downtown Baghdad so is doing the the-a-tre instead. The highfaluting hoity-toity ponce.

I don't think Re-Order are playing at all.

I think this is Shug and Co trying to get us all there under false pretences. I think he will lay on special buses at Kettering station and we will get rail roaded - literally - into rebuilding Corby station.

But there will be Security on hand, so don't worry too much.

(But don't take anything worth nicking - rumour is, JAK will be there!)

OK... just realised that i fucked up on the dates thinking it was the Saturday rather than the Friday. However, I'll still be there, just a bit later than anticipated.

Seems the problem of getting any fucking hotel in Northamptonshire on a Saturday night has now gone away, and there's loads available.

I'll be there sometime; just hope i dont miss 'Pig Champion', as i was my local pub's pig pulling champion, three years running.

I just got a quote from a cab firm and you are talking nearer £80 after 23.00 Johnny. :eek3: We can always organize a bit of a whip round to help towards the fare though mate. Alternatively, and i don't wish to be cheeky here, but maybe Monty and Jemma could drop you on their way back home oop north on the Saturday as Shug says there's a couch going at his.

Just so you all know what yer getting into

Corby A depressing series of roundabouts links an A road. Surrounding the road is a dismal mid 1970s shopping centre from the fuck you school of architecture. The only saving race of this windowless concrete block is that that is melts into the slate grey skies that Corby always seems to have and almost disappears. Along the A road is a sprawl of Eastern European looking housing estates.

Corby still makes steel but not as much as it used to. A few years back British Steel conned a lot Scots from Ravenscraig to come down and make steel as their own works were to be closed. This was another false dawn and with their resulting redundancy money many set up taxicab firms presumably specialising on finding ways out of Corby. Thus you see no buses. And you are constantly being cut up by other drivers.

As an Ex-Corby resident (26 fookin years- born and raised) I concur.

But Steel making- No. Tubeworks might barely still be alive but there's been no steel made in Corby since 1979.

A brilliant night. Well done to Shug and John for organising it.

The band were superb overcoming all the etchnical problems, including a blown bass amp, to produce the goods again.

Good to catch up with all the regulars again - you will no doubt get all the war stories from the frontline as soon as they have sobered up.

Interesting venue. I half expected to see Peter Kay appear in a wheelchair at any moment. Still, at least the car was still there when I got back to it - with the correct number of wheels!

Thanks for John and Shug for a brilliant night out. Thanks to RE-ORDER again for another blinding set. It was great seeing all the NOOLERS again,we should do this again soon! Talking Jemmie about it on the way down,we should organise a NORTH gig.

I think I did a Peter Kay and skided across the dancefloor on my knees, ripping a hole in my jeans and taking the skin off my knee.

Thanks to Shug for inviting us all back to his gaff for drinks and hot pot (love). And a big  to Jemmie for brill day and night.Four hours in traffic doing a New Order karaoke.:scream:

Can't believe I roped myself into working this afternoon for four hours....with the Eartha's.:(

Top night! Got back to Gloucestershire about half three, 6 hours driving in total and 7 hours sober in an otherwise very merry environment, but worth it and then some... Great set from Re: Order, in spite of amp trouble! Never thought I'd say this, but Sub-Culture was probably a highlight for me! Cheers to Shug and John for organising the whole thing and to all the Corby Order for being so hospitable and friendly... As Johnny (very drunkenly) said in the taxi on the way back to Shug's: "Yer know, Corby's alright actually..."

What a Judas!

Been offered a Mesa 50 though. Thankfully it's been round the block a bit so it's unlikely to do what yours did.

To be honest I'd have settled for 2 bars of We All Stand ;)

Cheers for dates, I suspect I may be darkening your door at one of those. Need a bass tech?

Anyone wishing to test the pertness of Jim's buns - or, indeed, his balls - can find him near Boro' Market ce soir where the Laahndan Orduh will be in session once again.

Leggy's pics have helped flesh things out a bit - shame the batteries died on his camera and we don't have the same photographic evidence of sitting in the beer garden post-gig... I know what you mean, but of all the amps i've owned only 2 have let me down, so i've been lucky. I'd defo go for the Mesa 50 good amp, like you say it's been around the block so in theory anything that could go wrong with it has gone wrong and been fixed. Sorted.

Memories are starting to return of the night.Near the end of the set Will " This is the last song and it's dedicated to Shug........ It's called World In Motion...."

Cue gasps of horror and dropped pint pots from the Corby Order as those words hung in the air for what seemed like an eternity and quite possibly echoed across the Northamptonshire countryide and all the way up to Glasgow and back...... before the bouncy melodic sequencer line we all know and love kicked in for the start of Temptation and all was well again in the Viking club wheh hey!!
