Yep.
Same way as I'd probably buy something by Freebass.
Well, actually, no, I don't seem to 'buy' anything these days, just download. But you get the point.
And I would make an effort to see both live, presuming they did 'gig'.
I suppose. Do you actually think they'll carry on anyway? I've been under the impression Hooky was the one holding it together for past 2 albums anyway. Only chance i see is if a deal is struck between all three of them over "those" WFTSC left-overs.
Not very contraversial so far, every cunt has said YES.
Pre-gig piss up coming intae an answer on the first couple of posts? Now that is hardcore JT

But as always, I'm sworn to secrecy. Thinking of changing me name to "Not For The NetZV"

Yep.
If they do get a new name, will we hear 'THE BAND FORMERLY KNOWN AS NU ORDAGH' at gigs then?
Was about to click "no" and had a sudden bout of honesty.
It won't be New Order, not even close, but it'll still be great, and so will freebase and just about anything else.
One thing.....maybe Freebase can do AoC and all the other stuff Barney poofs out of.
Another yes I'm afraid, Shug... The longer all this nonsense goes on for, the less I actually care about what happens... NO stopped being 'sacred' a long time ago, if any of 'em play live or release new material in whatever guise, I'd be up for a listen...

I'm a nearly no.
I wouldn't put the same effort into seeing anything without Hooky in it, but would go along if it was easy and convenient and there were some other people going. So no round trips to Bournemouth to see NO Lite, but I would try to make it to the odd gig.
Freebass, or anything else that H does next, will probably have my full attention.
(This from someone who's just put the finishing touches to expensive plans to go for a couple of pints in Corby. But that's different, cos it's Shug!)

hmm, would you have bothered going to great lengths to see monaco?
hooky is the obvious focal point in a live setting, but its the songs by new order that we all prefer to any of the side projects. the whole is greater than the sum of the parts with this lot
Troo, I suppose.
But the extra attraction of the other two bassists, and the fact that Hooky will always slip in the odd NO song (nearly wrote 'cover versions' then!) would probably be a bigger draw for me.
It's academic anyway - NO won't tour without Hooky. No way.
I would buy the New Order material. About Freebass...ummm, maybe, but if Robbie Williams is in that project... absolutly NOT.
I'd buy it out of respect/habit/curiosity but can't say I support the concept of it still being branded New Order.
Remove Gillian and it's 75% New Order.
Remove Hooky and it's 50% New Order.
At what point is it no longer New Order?
:\pimp3:
Well, problem is, do you really think New Order would still tour if Hooky wasn't in the band?
I mean.. Bernard hates it, and Steve would probably rather stay with the children like Gillian ?
Purely speculative, but still.
Yes I would, just like I would go see Freebass, Monaco and Electronic.
But I wouldn't fly to England for it probably.

Electronic. Concert. Yeah right! ![]()
Already got everything from Electronic, Revenge, The Other Two, Monaco, even those Banderas & Sub Sub singles and other collaborations... so who the fμck am I to boycott anything? ![]()
I voted yes, I hope to fuck they dont though. It wouldn't be right. I wasn't around during the 90s so not sure if it was as bad as this when they all went their seperate ways but to me it doesnt look like theres any chance of them gettin back. Maybe for the best, they are gettin on. One last tour and I'd be deighted for them to hang up their boots!!

Well, they did a few!
I said no,I'll own up.The same way it wouldn't be N.O. without Hooky,it wouldn't be without Barney or Steve IMO either.I'd watch/buy Barney & Steve as something else, but not as N.O.,& I'd watch/buy Hooky doing anything.I'm a purist, that's how it is,I've craved for Gillian to be back upto now, always feeling I'm a bit 'cheated' somehow 'cos she's not there![]()
I'm a bit fookin' surprised at how high the yes's were![]()
I like what the band have done - together and seperately - so, whilst not my ideal configuration / lineup of NO - I would go see them as much as would any 'solo' performance by any ex-member.
Yes, as I've just said in the other thread, I'll still go and see a Hooky-less New Order, just like I've recently seen Monaco (expensive trip up to Manchester & back), Hooky DJ sets, etc...
Anyway, half the fun is the meetups! ![]()

i've never seen them live. so yes, most likely and i probably would buy the last few things they released...

Fair play for yer honesty, I hope the day doesnae come and it's all sorted, but if the worse was to happen, nothing would stop me buying new stuff or going to see New Order...........except Celtic making it to a European Cup Final ![]()
Like I said earlier: New Order minus Hooky would be just one thing and one thing only: pointless.
The whole notion of them possibly gigging and recording without him and using the same name would be a complete crock of crap. Almost as stupid and absurd as Joy Division reforming minus BOTH Ian Curtis and Hooky - think about it.

so nothing realistic then?

Yes i would still go..
Aye, i suppose i'd still go.
I always classed Barney and Steve as the real hub of the operation anyhow.
Peter who? :D
