Yesterday I've bought a Russian cd of Waiting For The Sirens Call for only euro 5. But I am still wondering if this is a genuine release, as it's not mentioned in the comprehensive NOOL discography? iTunes (cddb) recognises the cd and tracklisting.

The catalog number is : 515782 3 / © 2005 London Records 90 Ltd. Made in Russia by Warner Music Manufacturing

This album contains 3 bonus remixes (Bonus Hits) of Krafty: The Glimmers dub version Phones Reality remix Rito re-dub remix

I've added some pictures...

It looks like there's space for a second disc, but there isn't. The disc doens't have a proper booklet, just an inlay card. Turn is entitled Turn New Drum (!)

And it's the "Turn New Drum" that gives it away. Look for a skull and crossbones somewhere on it......

When the pre-release copies found their way into the world, there were two separate versions, with some slightly different mixes. On the one, Turn had a new drum pattern, and said "Turn New Drum" on the paper sleeve.

Congratulations, you are now the proud owner of a bootleg :)

Didn't realise that (new drum) was a different mix.

Anyone got a copy?

It's definitely not a Russian official CD. Just a bootleg, one of many. I bought my Russian Get Ready CD 3 weeks before it came out in UK. Of course, it didnd't have a proper barcode at the time.

Of other Russian releases there are so called 2CDs-in-one discs: Movement / Brotherhood; Power, Corruption & Lies / Republic, Low-Life / Technique.

And also 2 MP3 discs with all singles and albums and several bootlegs.

Russian bootleggers tend to enhance regular albums with additional remixes of album/single tracks available at the time.

So I've bought myself a bootleg... hmmm... strange as I've bought it in a Dutch shop that only sells regular items, no bootlegs!

By the way this is printed in the center of the disc:

Do there exist genuine Russian releases anyway?

(I don't know what happened to my previous reply... it was empty after submitting it  )

I got a MADE-IN-CHINA bootleg of WFTSC - comes with flip-out slipcase showing band photo (with Gillian from BlueMonday88 photo sessions) and spotting large lettering 'NEW RODER'...a very obvious typo :D
