Anyone read this yet and if so, should I get it for my holidays? Reviews on Amazon are a bt mixed.

Hang on, hang on. I've only just finished reading "Torn Apart" by Mick 'n' Lindsay, 2 days ago. Give me chance. I now want to read something else to cheer me up like Peter Kay or Vic Reeves biogs before getting the Hannett book. And nobody dare say the ending either, I want it to be a surprise.

Just started reading it, so far it's pretty funny, love the line, "I'm gonna loose weight, I'll just eat an apple and a cheese sandwich a day...and loads of amphetamines"
shouldn't depress you too much, vic reeves book is also good, but the funniest bits are in the first couple of pages.

So the title is not a misnomer. Unlike the movie Dead Man Walking, he didn't die until the end of the movie, and he wasn't walking when he was dead.

also heard very mixed reviews even over on cerysmatic, JT - just devourded a great JStrummer biog - 'Redemption Song' by Chris Salewicz.

Oh you bugger, spoilt it now.
Y'know I've pretty much had my fill of the Joy Division story now from every conceivable angle. A quick scan along my book shelf and I counted 8 books I've read that are either wholly or substantially about JD. Not to mention another dozen major feature magazine articles in the last few years. New Order is usually a tagged-on epilogue summary.
We need a few books dedicated just to New Order: the Grumpy years, the Khaki Shorts years, the Pernod years, the Ibizan years, the Prozac years etc. Hopefully Bernard's book will redress the balance a bit. Looking forward to Steve doing a book ("Tanks for the memories"??)
btw, New FADs, they were a great underrated band. 3 great albums. Would have made a great regular support band for New Order like ACR, except they seemed to peak when New Order were on hiatus. Shame.
