The Hacienda must be rebuilt.

People like that need to be lined up against the wall and have paint thrown at them.

Wankers. :fiveknuckleshuffle:

They missed the last bit of that quote:

"The Artists Have The Freedom To Fuck Off"

Knobs

Why is everyone getting so angry??

I thought it was funny, not to mention entirely justified....

Is it really that bad

Maybe a bit ill conceived but seems to be more an attempt at a Banksy style art statement than an act of mindless vandalism.

Looks like watery powder paint, not tins of emulsion.

Although, of course they might just have got AHW confused with the Stone Roses' record label boss. In that case, they are twats.

I stopped the frame at the end shot, its water based childrens paint its just run off the wall. Will wash off in rain, its just coloured water really.

There can be little doubt that Tony Wilson would have loved the fact that some people did that in his name.

He wil be smoking a never-ending spliff in the great Hacienda in the sky and smiling wryly.

Shouldn't this just be yellow and black? To keep it in a Haçienda stylee?!

Where the fcuk does the red and a splash of purple come in?

Pretty futile gesture. I'm gonna have a lamb shawarma on the way home "in memory of Tony". Far more fulfilling. And at least I'll have done my bit too.

I do hope somebody (BBC?) is currently assembling a tribute documentary/clips programme to Tony. I keep checking the Sky menu to see if there's 'a change to our published programming...' but spotted nothing yet.

I must have seen him on tv about 100 times in 20 years giving great quotes. And I'm still annoyed I missed his appearance on the Weakest Link.

Surely BBC4 will do something at the very least, it's what they're there for..(.together with retrospectives on 14th Century Bavarian painters and the History of Granite.)

This is just mindless chavs using TW's anarchic character as an excuse for vandalism, if TW liked that kind of thing he'd have had all the artwork done by jackson pollock not saville.

These chavs should be put in stocks in manchester city centre, egged for a week then shot and left to rot as a lesson to other chavs.:banghead:

this is even more insulting to the memory of TW than the mugs being sold on ebay.

Blunderer , you are one of the twats throwing the paint?

I thought that, but if the Hac was still open it would surely have been redecorated by now.

Anyone heard of Ben Kelly over the last ten years? No, 'cos he's sitting on his arse all day watching those make over TV shows and crying that he can't add a touch of purple to his yellow and black

He'll be thinking it needed a few scatter cushions around all those dancefloor bollards too

Now whether you liked the Hacienda or not,& that goes for anything either Mancunian or anyone's home town, you should respect what it stands for.I personally don't like fuckin' Oasis or Mick Hucknall, but they're fookin' Mancunian & that'll do.So,whether it's artistic freedom or not, they're not real fookin' Mancunians to me.They are w!!!ers tho' :nonono:
