I've only briefly skimmed through it, will attempt to read it over the weekend, when I've got a bit more time...!

Nearly finsihed the book, excellent read for any NO fan. Barneys comments definatley make it more worthwhile, Nolan has been lucky that Barney decided to comment. Not sure about the authors favourite NO album being Republic and slagging Technique!! still eveyones entitled to an opinion....just like this one. Personally I think NO albums are for the better by not going fully into the dance camp or the indie camp.
Tell you what though.....BARNEY HAS GONE UP in my estimation and i have always liked the guy anyhow.Bloody hell my life ain't been no holiday and neither has his.I just lost the plot and he bought a Yacht.
I got my paws on this last month when I was in London and read it through pretty much straight away, which is unusual for me.

Some bits were more interesting than others, but do we actually know anything more about Bernard than his real name and his family background now? So much was glossed over, particularly the demise of Factory, and there were quite a few little things that were plain wrong (irrelevant to anyone but trainspotters I know, but the tour with the Smash Hits episode and Sarah joining them on tour was 86 not 85).
Then again, why would we want to know about his life away from the band anyway? I'd be much more interested in reading his and the rest of the band's comments on how things like the different records came about when they did, the bits behind the products we all have and by which we have a reference point.
It is a good read though, even if I was expecting a bit more.

BTW I'm sure it says the book is Hardback on Amazon but mine is paperback. Should I be suffering from issue envy? :(
I've only seen paperback versions, so don't get too worried. Amazon have probably cocked it up again...
I agree with oldmonkey.
Clearly the author put a lot of time into finding out about Bernard's upbringing, but there was a tangible lack of insight into the breakdown of New Order, both in the early 90s and the recent split.

I tore into this yesterday and read about half of it. Have to say I was getting a wee bit bored... Just as something was getting interesting Nolan skips ahead a few years.
And (this is just my anality BTW) I thought it could have done with another proof read as there seemed to be lots of missing quotation marks, which made it confusing as to who was saying what... There are lots of Here, hear, they're, their, your, you're errors- which really FUCKING annoys me. It's fine in blogs and emails and texts. But in a published book? Amateurs!!!

I have to agree with RichShan on the typos, made it very irritating to read. And a typo in the discography 
As for the content, nothing too exciting there. A good read, no more than that, but definitely better for Bernard's input. And I was annoyed at the fact that Gillian's second daughter doesn't appear to exist according to the book. Two specific references to Gillian and in both only one girl gets a mention.
