I just heard on Granada news that Manchester Health Authority are making anti-cancer drug Sutent available to the public on a trial basis. Isn't this the same treatment that they refused Tony Wilson???

The question is, would it of made a difference in Anthony's case ? Probably not, due to the heart attack, but at least he made an effort in making the drug known & hopefully making other lives better because of it !
its the same old song played to a different tune.i dont think they would have refused it to prince charles so i would be asking for his dose please.thats one thing i have thought of.another is that tony wilson was not fighting a losing battle with the nhs as he has made them sit up and really listen this time but did it need to get to the point of no return for tony until someone in politics took notice of his case.that has made me a bit bitter about the situation but also happy for the drugs to be used on others who need it too as we cant forget them can we as it still goes on.
It's great that the battle for stutent has been won by the people who deserve it, but don't get upset thinking if they gave it TW he'd still be alive, he was getting it, albeit paid for, and was responding well to it, it was his heart that eventually gave in, having the stutent earlier probably wouldn't have helped.
I don't mean to sound like a spokesman for the NHS, I'm really glad it's available to those that need it.

Well not correct technically, a couple miles from me depending on which side of the Tees bridge you live on depends on prospective availability. Our side Durham ok to get it, other side N. Yorks f**kin no chance. Its that NICE organisation - make some weird decissions. Far too much waste in this country on twats who dont pay tax etc.. (Gypo's) or twats who shouldn't be here & scrounge.
It's a simple question of economics, gentlemen.
This sort of treatment is very expensive.
Tell you what, let's raise the base rate of income tax by 2p in the pound so that everyone can have cancer treatment.
How many of you would agree to that then? Putting your hand in your pocket to help your fellow man, whether you get cancer, or not.
