Looking for New Order accapellas

Topic title says it all, really... Does anyone here happen to have any? I'd love to play around with some. Thanks in advance.

Think the only "offical" one is Confusion from that 1990 import. Got it somewhere, i'll stick it on my comp later then if someone explains how (im shite with this type of thing!) i'll upload it for you.

you can also get the vocals from jetstream using the umix software, and muting all but the vocal tracks the export it, but then you're stuck with a not brilliant song, I wish they'd re release more in the umix format.

There is also a crystal version out there. Who knows were I put it these days.

Though technically, the term refers to a vocal performance made with no other intruments, so does not (if one wants to be an uber-anal pedant (HI THERE!) )in fact accurately decribe these tracks as they were all sung WITH accompaniment, that was just recorded elsewhere. Bernard's pitching is random enough WITH accompaniment FFS (as ever, as soon as I consider Barney's singing quirks, I see his endless "Monitor dance" in me head.....a word of advice from a rank (wank?) amateur like me to a "pro" like Bernard.....show up at the fucking soundcheck on time, and speak kindly to and of your monitor engineer, and you wont spend the whole gig looking like you have mad cow disease and a wasp in each ear.

Don't think Bernard has the confidence to really do solo/unplugged singing. Isn't the 24hrPP version of "Blue Monday" pure fantasy?

He did do "Bizarre Love Triangle" with some other group that was sort of acapella awhile back, don't remember the details. Wasn't half bad but i may be insane and delusional.

I've not tried this with NO, but have done it with others...

NO put out a music video collection with the audio in 5.1, was it called Item? Anyways, the vocal is isolated on the center channel. If you disable the front and rear L/R, you'll be left with a vocal.

You usually need to put a high pass filter in as well.

The trick you describe works by phase cancelling anything that is panned off centre, but bass and kick drum are usually mixed dead centre too.

It wasn't a true 5.1 mix if I recall as reverb was added to the rear channels for an ambient effect and the L,C,R channels were filtered to give the illusion of surround. They would have had to go back and and create new mixes to get true 5.1 and I don't think that ever happened.

if you've got a fairly new one (unlike me, g3 iMac) run bootcamp, open windows and run it on there, alternatively, buy a dirt cheap 2nd hand pc (about a fiver should do) and never connect it to the internet. it's also a good reminder why it's worth paying a little more for a mac!

Or you can download a program called Winzip to unzip these files. I'm not 100% of there is a version of Winzip for mac though

it's not the unzipping that's the problem (stuffit is the mac equivalent)it's running an .exe file, which the mac won't do, unless you're running windows on your mac (which is possible, but you'd be safer with a seperate pc)

Replace the ".exe" in the url by ".zip", you will have the zip without the self-extract windows binaries.

Was gonna suggest the same thing, I often use that trick even in windows.
