Received the cd yesterday & was listening to it last night,got to track 14 or so,think the cast version of Transmission is very good,Velvet Underground quality as always.But,to my point....are N.O. taking the fookin' piss or what??!! To call their conributions 'tracks' deserves a mention to the Trades Descriptions act.Now I know most/some of you may have already previewed them but I preferred to wait for the cd,thinking than rather get an 'excerpt',I'd listen to the whole track.Well all I get on my cd was a fookin' 'excerpt'!! How can someone claim to actually write these,they are just fookin' doodles at best.Piss take & not impressed.Notwithstanding the recent public,acrimonious 'split',this is just poor & a bit of a rip-off to be honest.They could have just been put down to anonymous,incidental music than rather be credited as N.O. tracks.Total bollox

They were not meant to be "tracks" that can stand on their own.
I think a huge part of my disappointment was that I was hoping for something along the lines of the quality N.O.instrumentals from the past like Best & Marsh,Don't Do It,Elegia and such,but obviously fitting for the film,but what we actually get is fook all really.Even now,the prospect of hearing new N.O.product fills me with excitement,& upon receiving this,just feel massively disappointed.There's assumption for you.Fuck
Got to agree - was looking forward to some new NO instrumentals - but they are just 20 second jingles - rest of the album is good though.
Would be a shame if they are the last ever NO tracks released - not exactly Ceremony !!!
It is what it is- background music for particular scenes, isn't it? Don't think that it was supposed to be anything more than that, so the length of which these tunes are makes sense.
I agree that for anyone wanting another three good New Order tunes, the soundtrack is disappointing, but the band were asked to contribute music for a film soundtrack. There are 'full' versions of the tunes around, but maybe they'll never see the light of day. The film makers edited the music to fit the film. Although people may feel 'ripped off' we can't blame the band for that.
if you consider them worth 79p, they're available on iTunes now. that's got to be more painless than buying the whole album...?

I pre-ordered mine from amazon US two weeks ago, North American release was slated for October 2nd, I was expecting it today.
Just got an email from Amazon saying the release has been pushed back to early December 
fuk dat, i ordered it from Amazon UK and it will be stateside next week. 
I already have all the tracks, excluding the cast version of transmission, which is what im really wanting to hear in its entirety...

Why can't we blame the band? They are the one's who 'wrote' them, & submitted them? For the film,fair enough,they're incidental music pieces,but to put them on the soundtrack cd as they are,well,Exit & Hypnosis anyway,they are just fookin' doodles at best & do not qualify,at just over a minute each,to be labelled as new N.O. tracks,not to me anyway.I'm sure there are people who would've bought the cd on the strength of this.It's just very disappointing

I agree with you Kel. That they put only exerpts in the movie is fine, but there should be full versions on the soundtrack. I mean in any soundtrack I've purchased, the song is always in a full version...and very rarely is the full version within the movie.
With the build up of the supposed WFTSC extra tracks to possibly come out, and the whole build up of the soundtrack...this is piss poor.
Record companies and artists want to complain about people 'stealing' music, but yet want to rip off fans like this.

Agree 100%. Obviously it's up to the film-makers how much to put in the movie itself, but we've waited over two years for this (AND the possibility of 'Sirens' leftovers). I'm always accused of being negative, but this is a disgrace, makes 'Salvation' look like the Beatles 'Anthology'. If this really is their parting shot (God not again) they should be amazed people actually still give two proverbial shits.
Have to admit I don't mind the instro pieces, but inserting dialogue into soundtracks pisses me off(the 'Whos' Annik?' bit before Atmosphere etc)and the cast version of Transmission is kerap (Sam Riley makes Ian sound American)
I'm impressed with the chosen songs though. Good to see Warszawa and Sister Midnight on the track list.
