Has anyone out there got this, I purchased one and it will arrive in a few days but it appears to be a bit of an oddity..everything that I read tells me this is unreleased, but I also heard there was a US Blue Monday red vinyl 12 inch. Any info appreciated. When this arrives I'll know what it is but until then I'm curious

I have to say it is a boot.
If it is anything like my Red Vinyl copy of Closer, you won't find anything on it that will actually let you know that it is a boot. It has all the factory markings and correct credits. It is really quite well done except that the cover photo isn't as clear as on my original, the songs are listed on the the back and they've included Love Will Tear Us Apart.
Let's not get started on my picture disc LPs of Unknown Pleasures and Closer.

it is a New Zealand emi/gap records Cat # good 10 red vinyl alright. definitely an authentic ..has a slight warp/manufacturing fault..maybe this is why they remained unreleased. will attempt to upload a photo.

OK I give up, I have no idea on how to add a photo here(I thought it would be like adding a photo to an ebay listing) but it's not so if you want to see it email me at tfcbrian@gmail.com and I'll send you the pic.
Interesting.
Where did you get it, Brian?
I've emailed and will post the pic for you.

Of course, it`s a official, very rare promo item. You can find it at worldinmotion.net/discography/blue Monday
But are you sure, that this is the right thread??It belongs to the Buy/Sell Forum, because I want to have it.
I :)

Take a number!
It also appears on the Niagara discography.
Most definitely an authentic and prized collectable.
Recall this item being spoken of in hushed tones back in the day, as one of the rarer gems in the NO collector's crown. Never actually seen one "in the flesh".
So speak up, bro. Where did you get it and what did you pay?
:\pimp3:
I do remember MARK from REcord Peddler informing me of this and i am sure there was once a picture of this in RECORD COLLECTOR.Never bought it though.RED BLUE MONDAY indeed.Nice!![]()

Don't think Rocket would approve of use of marker pen on the label either...
And something for the Ask Rocket thread: Mick - does red vinyl create less dust problems than black vinyl? :)

RED VINYL doesn't show the DUST the same.Pity about the tatty cover and TERRIBLE use of a BLACK MARKER which should only be used to write " NEW ORDER used to be great" on the toilet wall!![]()

I figure that I'm going to sell it as I don't need to have the variations of these. I generally go for the home country first edition copy of whatever record I'm after which sort of gives me the record/cover as the band conceived it at the time. This record will be better placed in a JD/NO specialists collection. Will probably put it on Ebay sometime in the next week.
bye Brian

There was a black vinyl US QWest Blue Monday re-release in 2004, but I haven't seen a red vinyl copy. Impressed. (Wish they sold them over here...)

US$280 in the end.
Not bad for a well-worn, dusty old boot.
