This months mix mag has lots of stuff about 20 yeaers of acid house /hacienda / roland 303, second summer of love and all that melarchy.

Includes interview with hooky.

Also nice Tony Wilson RIP bit.

The Roland TransistorBassline model No 3 0 3 is far from 20 years old.

By 1987 the £69.99 retail unit was changing hands in the back of sound on sound for under a tenner. Mainly cos people kept trying to get it to play a proper bassline (bit like Hooky really, and with as much success :lol: ). It wasn't until the next year when the "detroit noise" went overground that the prices started to ramp up to $STUPIDNUMBER and normals started to know what 808 909 and 303 meant.

I believe the 303 came out in 81-83-ish ( I always thought 81 or 2 but a friend who pervs over Roland kit insists the 3 of 303 denotes 83 (doesn;t hold much water as 808 and 909 didn't come out in 88 and 89).

The article is about "20 Years of Acid House".

Not once does it say the 303 is 20 years old.
