Aye a touch hot perhaps. Nevertheless, that mic has astounding bass response. Gobsmacked it's a built-in job.
For future reference, remeber digital has so much signal to noise ratio, you can under record by bloody miles and still get great results. Loads of digital uses actually work to -12db for some reason (DVD for example), so err on the side of too little.
(thus speaks a man who redlines cubase more often than not)

massif chears to you, probably one of the better live recordings ive heard foorseveral reasons, mainly the interesting blue monday, fantastic sunrise and the "i could have you any day shaun" bint with the x-factor on insight.

Not sure if you're joking or not about Rowetta.You know she sang and toured with the Happy Mondays many many years ago before she was on X Factor? Was a bit sad that she ended up on that programme but maybe you are taking the piss , whatever.

woke up again!!! what is it with babies and 2 o clock feeds? yeah, the having shaun bit from coach accross holland on the madchester documentary c90.good prog' learned a few things from it, like isnt mc tunes a right twat. apparently he used to finish gigs early to get for his curfew, never can remember, being 18 in 1989 kinda gives it away

Cheers:D to Tim and Spotty for getting this gig up on NOOL, also very big thanks to Pottsy, Hooky, Jack, Rowetta, Leadfoot and the keyboard player(hard-drive?) who sounded fairly tight for the gig. And I reckon that rendition of Blue Monday is as close to the mythical acoustic version played by John Simm, Ralph Little and co on 24hpp as we're ever likely to get unless Barney does another acoustic set with the Doves and trots it out as well.
As an aside, considering that Doctor?(AKA Cambo)contributed a few times to this thread, I wonder if he thinks on a similar wavelength to me(given we are both eccentric Whovians with Asperger's), that if Hooky had fallen through a hole in the space/time continuum and landed in the BBC Radiophonic workshop with his bass rig whether the Dr Who theme would have had an even more ahead of it's time eerieness about it. Could be an interesting mashup that one.....
