I wasn't there tonight, but I have been following the concert via telly, they're airing the show live (yeah lucky me, huh?)

I'll start with the set list and add the comments afterwards.. I'll just start with saying that they had *lots* of problems with the sound

  1. Crystal
  2. Transmission
  3. Regret
  4. 60 miles an hour
  5. Atmosphere
  6. Brutal
  7. She's lost control
  8. BLT
  9. True Faith
  10. Temptation
  11. LWTUA

  1. Blue Monday
  2. World in Motion
  3. Your silent face

Well, they did like 30 seconds of soundcheck before starting to play. They start off with Crystal. The instruments doesn't sound very coordinated.. Bernard dances so much that he falls on his back. Way to go, heh. He tunes the guitar mid-song. Afterwards he talks about how Sweden is one of their favourite countries "No, it really is! The girls are so beautiful here, the girls are so beautiful here and the girls are so beautiful here." .. yeah right :)

Next up Transmission, sounded very good actually, although something very strange seemed to happen with the bass at the end. Bernard then asks what the audience's favourite band so far have been, and also adds that they're friends (or that he likes them, can't remember)with Chemical Brothers (who also played at Hultsfred). After this they play Regret, much to the delight of the audience.

Then they take a minute break to tune in the instruments, because "they're professionals now" as Bernard says... Next up is 60 mph ("which is about 120 km an hour. It's about driving very fast"). Although they've so far have had a lot of sound problems, 60 mph sounds very good. After that they play Atmosphere.

"This is a song you've never heard. It's a song we did for the soundtrack for 'The Beach', with Le-o-nar-do-di-Caprio." They get almost no audience response for Brutal, although it did sound quite good. Then they complain about "the fucking problems" they have tonight (with sound etc) Hooky: "And when we look at you we can see you have fucking problems too" (or something :))

They play She's Lost Control, which sounds nice. Then Bernard says they're going to play their "synthesizer set". Bixare Love Triangle, he says, is about when Peter met Phil in prison and the bizarre love triangle they shared with a cell mate called Big Daddy  Big Daddy, he adds, is "Roger, the guy behind the computer". Just when they start playing, Bernard cries out: "David Beckham!!" He dances a lot (as usual) during BLT, but that falling on his knees bit doesn't look good for his knees at all.

Before True Faith, he comments on how patient the crowd is because the weather has been bad "because in England we're used to it raining all the time, but in your beautiful country, it never rains.. After True Faith it seems like someone in the audience have said something: Bernard says: "you speak english very well, did you learn it from a book" eh?? Hooky says that, that is no way to speak to Bernard.. After a tune up (again) they play Temptation.

"Okay, last song now. It is getting late." LWTUA. After this, the usual "You've been a great audience, We've been a great band. We've enjoyed each other!" They walk off stage and come back for encores. Which are Blue Monday, World in Motion and Your Silent Face. Bernard thanks the audience for putting up with them.. Between the songs he talks about 3-0 against Denmark, and he mentions Sven Göran Erikson. The crowd cheers "Sverige! Sverige" at this time.. hmmm

Well that's it :)

Sophisticated Lady,

You are most likely the only person with a soundboard recording of Brutal & She's lost control. Even WIM is a rare live find.

Your VCR is most likely a PAL. But if it's not, you could make alot of money selling copy's of this concert. I know I would pay.

Anyways, is there anyway you or anybody could make mp3's of the songs, or the whole concert. I could but I would need a copy of the concert. (Hint, Hint)

I join my Great Albertan Friend in begging for MP3s (or even RealVideo files!) of these rarely played songs New Order performed in Sweden!
