Just spotted this on the Salford Museum and Art Gallery site....
We are working on a year long exhibition together with Manchester District Music Archive due to open at Salford Museum and Art Gallery in October 2008. The exhibition will celebrate Salford's popular music scene from 1950 to today and include film footage, sound recordings, musical artefacts, photographs, film footage, tickets and clothing.
We already know a little bit about the musicians like Ewan McColl, Graham Nash, New Order and the Happy Mondays; and also the venues like the Willows, the Wishing Well, Salford Students Union and Pinky's Palace but we'd like you to fill in the missing pieces. We are keen to hear from anyone who has an interesting story. Perhaps you were a musician or you.can loan an item for the show.
