Is Steve the only member of the band not to have lost the plot completely? I am thinking mainly about Barneys increasingly bizarre statements and collaborations (duetting with Ana Matronic for example) and Hooky's desire to be associated with anything at all.
Morris on the other hand is modest, bright, well read and very amusing and hasnt missed a beat with the sticks at all for the last 30 years:

I'd have to agree with you there. He seems alot more mature and grounded than the 2 others you mentioned. He doesnt throw wobblers and is a truely consistantly brilliant drummer.
Plus he must have the patience of a saint to put up with the shennanigans of the more egotistic members.

Stephen Morris has stayed the most consistent of the three throughtout the years. He also seems to be the most grounded while Bernard and Hooky seem to get "caught up". I think it's just their personalities.
Although I total respect Bernard and Hooky, Stephen seems to be more down-to-earth (ok...I've never met him SO maybe I might be wrong. I hope not though). Stephen is one of my heroes. He's my favourite drummer. I have a lot of admiration for him. Nuff said.

He's probably the most 'average' member of the band. No bad thing, you definitely get the feeling he's in it for the paycheck for the family, also no bad thing!

Last Mr Morris cock-up I remember was at Manc Apollo when he finished a good four bars before everyone else and looked very sheepish indeed...
I still think he's the most sensible member of the band and certainly the most technically talented.
Still, none of them are quite as good without ALL the others.
