Barney's Trainers

Has anyone noticed how Barney has been wearing the same footwear since last October? ie. the white Addias egg shell trainers. He told the Brixton audience that he bought them in Glasgow and that he really liked them. I was further surprised to see him wearing them with a suit when he presented Kylie Minogues Top Of The Pops Award last October. I never went to Finsbury but having seen photographs I laughed when he was still wearing the same trainers! The Barnster himself has admitted to being tight but surely with all the work they have been doing he could have bought some new footwear... for style reasons alone!

Can't say I'd ever noticed his feet. Do people generally notice the feet of others ? Maybe I'm weird in not caring less about footwear on others. There was this girl on Blind Date who was obsessed with footwear, and I thought she was a bit weird. Then again, maybe open-toed sandals on blokes do look a bit wanky :)

I thought his sandals looked quite good. Not so sure about Hooky's blatant use of the hooded top though.

They're not always the same. He was wearing green stripe last summer in America, and for the Aussie gigs he had the limited edition silver ones with a snakeskin mottle on 'em. Can't comment on what's gone on between - I too noticed he had white adidas on at Finsbree but I think he must have a fair few pairs of the buggers.. .

Maybe he was just wearing them to show us that he wasn't plastered with mud and all that !!

That hooded top is a disgrace

BTW, I believe Hooky's been wearing Merrell's (is that the correct spelling?) trainers on most dates in the past year.

Was at both Finsbury aand Brixton gigs and I noticed that the same pair of Snakeskin trainers were worn. Purchased my dauhgter the same pair on the strenghth of it.

Whatever he's wearing now will be better than the Clarks loafers he wore at TFI Friday.

I saw a German (although not bad) film a couple of weeks ago: "Berlin is in Germany" whose main character, who had been inside for the past ten years was the spitting image of Barney. He even had the same haircut! I was really bothered by the fact that the actor would not change his T-shirt during the whole picture even if this takes place during a number of days. I wonder whether the film director is a NO fan.

as an advocate of comfortable shoes, i agree that his choice of footwear is fine. maybe it's just the colour that's wrong

Yep, I agree with Jarvonius.

I bet that Barney is such a type that buys a whoooooole lot of them shoes if he reaaaaaaalllly likes them (and he does!!).

Maybe he'll beat imelda marcos on the total pair of shoes that he owns?

:D

I've got this performance on video (and I'm proud of that). His jumper was awesome, with a little coaxing I'm sure it could have done the song itself ... but the Order were on-form weren't they? ... I absolutely adored this performance, they played a few other songs as well. The SOTN video is good also. Probably could have been better if the jumper starred alongside the skin head.

What else did they play apart from State of the Nation and Broken Promise then ? I'd love a copy of this recording (Audio) if anyone has it please!

Somebody "accidentally" grabbed one of mine at Finsbury.....wouldn't have minded as such until I realised he was about 14 !!

I made a video of 'everything' NO played on tv from about 1985 to 1992 ish. 1 3 hour tape with TOTP performances, interviews, snippits, documentaries, The Roxy (True Faith), The Tube, etc. etc.

If I had the ability to copy I would because to my knowledge I think I've managed to tape 99.9% of all tv appearances which makes the content fairly complete ... for the completist out there.

Message from the strangely re-banned Tim (no reason ever was given)....

"I've got all the TV appearances ever, including Celebration. What I want is the tracks played at the Tube that weren't broadcast on TV - they only showed SOTN and Broken Promise, yet I understand they did a full set"

Well, the banned one is not alone in his search for the missing 'Tube' pieces. I am almost certain I have 3 songs but cannot confirm that until I have the video in front of me. I do not think they did play a full set, only 3-5 songs so at the very least Tim the banned entity is only missing out on a few battered fishes and scraps.
