does anyone know if Interzone was written during the time of Warsaw, or were they JD when they wrote this song??

it was most probably written during or for the RCA sessions in May '78, which would make it Joy Division. Especially as the story about how it was written involves Richard Searling who was involved in those sessions.

There is a great bit on the Documentary about this, set to that same montage of Wigan Casino footage that Doves use when they do Here It Comes live.

Anyway, as stated, it comes from the sessions they did for RCA. The idea was to do a cover version of a Northern Soul song called Keep On Keepin' On by N F Porter, but it sounded shite so they abandoned that but kept the basic riff and reworked it into Interzone.
