AH WELL! It has been a long time hasn’t it? Was put off the blogging for a while, cos of the DJ fiasco but reading an article by Moby, has made me reconsider. Its funny though isn’t it? I will not answer blog comments anymore ,ill answer people personally, on mine or go to theirs, but hanging your washing for all to see has got to be a losing game! I was reading some of the forums and in it their were mentions of me cleaning my blog,? Like a dictator or something,? Would any of you put up with it on your site? Surely that’s what the messages are for arent they?So we can talk man to man or whatever, so you keyboard terrorists can really let rip! theres rules and regulations for everything isn’t there? Unfortunately I didn’t pick up a manual when I started a group became a dj or started blogging. So I guess ill have to learn as I go along, like I did with the three kids. You can negotiate with a terrorist! Made me laugh anyway! So courtesy of moby, spent three very busy weeks in the studio doing freebass, ably assisted by Phil and Dan , from the Mondays, Mani worked his butt off god bless him, so did old lead foot, got some great stuff, but then it took days and days to transfer all the material from LOGICK to CUBASE, bloody gigs and gigs of it! Im gonna be shiftin boxes forever, be worth it though. What else, 52, had a lovely time spoilt rotten by the wife and the kids, don’t know how I will ever eat my way through it all! Don’t feel any different! Still 17 where it counts!
HAD a great trip to ISTANBUL, for the JOY DIVISION DOCUMENTARY, with a very lively Q AN A, the docu is great, I see something different in it every time, the footage of MANC is superb. DJ afterwards completely paranoid throughout, but it was a great crowd, thanks to the POST DIAL lads for their support! The snow was wild it snowed for 2days solid I thought I was never going to get out of there, the driver got stuck on top of one of the biggest hills, Istanbul is made up of 7 hills , so just calmly let it slide back down avoiding all the other traffic? It was wild I nearly bit through the head rest! Next morning we slid all the way to the airport, took forever. But the guy made it overtaking the gritters and everything! Then after the best business lounge in the world, its like a sheiks tent. I got to sit on the tarmac for three hours, while this kid kicked the back of my chair, then 4 an a half in the air! Proper numb bum! I moved!
MANCHESTER JACK DANIELS, I was practicing all week for the cancer benefit, so I couldn’t guest on this one, but I must admit the audience on night one and come to think of it night two, were very quiet, I was ashamed of you Manchester! Youre too spoilt! Was a good moment later though I tried to get into DRY for adrink they had a soul night on, and got kicked out! Hows that for irony? Couple of great bands on really cheeky young band from London THE MODELS I THINK? They were great! Cherry Ghost I couldn’t get into, great voice, but not for me. As for the futureheads, really sounded like the clash with XTC vocals, sorry boys. Channel four doing their level best to get me to say something positive, but just couldn’t do it. Victor Meldrew strikes again!
THE CANCER BENEFIT! Now I will take the blame here, im not too sure im cut out to be in a band anymore, ended up at loggerheads with andy and damon straight away over song choice, I think I had my miserable head on, but it really didn’t feel like a finale to me, L>W>T>U>A> was top but 4 more like that and I would have been very happy. It was a great line up, though so thanks to Steve, pottsy, aziz, denise, andy , damon and noel for their efforts, it is a great cause and I hope it works. Missed the collaborations this year but maybe next eh? Twinny disgraced himself yet again, I believe they were smoking so much in the salford box they nearly sent in the fire brigade, top one lads, being led astray by howard marks were you?

Had a great time here though, it’s a wonderful place Belfast although one of you buggers gave me a cracking cold, been suffering for two weeks. Shit! Nice to take the ferry for a change much more restful than flying, Some great bands here , SUBWAYS INDULGED ME TO DO oh yeah! TOP ONE! Thanks kids, the FOALS were excellent best Band ive heard in ages, ages with more than a nod to the POP GROUP GANG OF FOUR, B ut truly excellent, if you see them ask them about the dressing room towel trick? it’s a cracker, Ended with BOY KILL BOY, who I didnt get at all? They had brought a friend? With them to play who pissed about all through the set? Had me puzzled ill tell you! IM OFF JESS WANTS A CUDDLE! She’s got my cold and is very poorly bye hooky
