Have to agree with Al. Saw a snippet on lunchtime news and that was it. Think it was in LA for Fergie. Thought JT had it at some point but I only ever saw the original broadcast so must be mistaken.

Until recently the TVS Southampton clip of Thieves Like Us was one of the rarest surely? And the German 'Convoy' and Belgian appearances doing the same song were also rare.Had never seen any of all those til last year.Switch was indeed on Friday evenings when the Tube was off air.The Roxy was on Tuesday tea times if i remember right.Or was it repeated in that slot after originally being shown on Saturday morning?

Saw a clip of them doing Blue Monday on some European show or other back in about 84 (?) .Only caught it the once.Veronica's Countdown or summat was it?

Are you thinking of the their acceptance of of the BPI for True Faith? I posted a cutting of that a while back. Did any of that make it to TV? As far as I know they didn't play that night.

I know Fergie was supposed to have been in their fan club. Was there such a thing? I don't think they ever did any sort of Royal Command performance thingy.

1989 (I think) there was a British Trade fair on L.A. attended by Chas N Di and performed at by Norder. Later they were presented to them. There was a clip on the dinnertime news but I had a video in the tape deck for the evening news, the clip wasn't shown.

That was certainly a new low for the band, having to explain to people that 'no actually they were once a really good band'

Taking obscure to mean performances that don't fit with the rest of the body of work, I'd have to say Juke Box Jury. I love it dearly, but it's a bit like watching an aircraft carrier trying to navigate a village pond.

Ah yes I do vaguely recall that one. I'll have to do some research. I haven't seen a video of it anywhere, but I may have a clipping.

Well Col, you thought that video nightmare was all in the past, but tonight...

A couple of clips went out on the UTV (possibly BBC Norn Iron, but more likely UTV), the night they played QUB in 86, I was only just getting into them at the time, so I'm not at all sure where the footage was from, or even what tunes were played (I'm thinking sunrise or AoC, because the "rockyness" of them shocked a chap who owned BM, TPK,EGG and Temptation, and not a whole lot else. They did introduce the footage as "last week" or "last month" or "last night" or some such.

However, more recently I found a couple of clips on youtube, one of which was Sunrise and the other LWTAU or AoC, which for various reasons seem to resemble the clips on the news, altough I may be confusing them with another show that I certainly seen at the time. Shit, that makes no sense.

Basically, we may be talking about some stuff ITV shot, or some stock footage they grabbed, I am no longer as sure of the former as I once was.

BTW, BM on TOTP, he's trying not to LAUGH! not cry, and is clearly quite quite wankered. Also I suspect he'd fucked the sound crew off quite badly, hence the vocal RAMMED up front and drier than Maggie Thatch's minge....it's what I'd do to a vocalist who fucked me about, at least until my artistic sensibilities made me change it rather than listen to it, but these guys are PRO'S they can deal with it

I thought it was 1986 around the time of their US tour in November and I'm sure it was for Fergie who said at the time she was a fan.
