That big NO family

Hunstman mentioned today how this site had become like some kind of a family. I definitely have to agree with the Hunts on this one (often have to agree with him anyway).

And I think that has to do with what I talked about in the "Those humans that form New Order" topic. I mean, no offense to them but I don't think this would happen on Depeche Mode or a U2 fan site.

Because if we don't agree on everything of course, we all, well most of us anyway, care for those four people. We love them way beyond their music.

That's why we can relate. That's why I spend so much time in these forums. I like to talk and read about them. Joe Schalk made a very intersting point on this matter, saying why they were so important to him.

Don't you agree ? Huntsy ? Liv ? April ? Nic ? Seb ? Jarvis ? Marco ? Jeff ? Patrick ? and the others ?

Please Nic or Seb, could you help close those 2 useless threads. Trouble with the server apparently. I thought it hadn't worked the 2 1st times. Thanx.

Well, I managed to do it by myself. Sorry guys.

Too damn right! It's great to chat to NO/JD likeminded peeps, cuz at school when I was rabbiting on about 'em my friends would ridicule me for not liking grunge and snore rock! Although I was alone listening to them, I never really felt alone in the sense that the music always makes me feel so warm.

The light at the end of the tunnel was when I met my first serious girlfriend at the time of Republic, it just made our relationship better cuz I at last met someone who loved 'em to. You know who you are Sarah T if you are reading this!

Geoff - I agree, as stated, this is an extra-ordinary family. I'm definately not a web-head but there's something about the people in this site that keeps me coming back. I'm actually going to post a freaky pyschic character profile soon - watch this space (I've been working on it).

Interested to see if any of the regulars agree with the Klumpy on this one.

Klumpy, huh... :)

Could sound like some kind of comedy show : Huntsy & Klumpy...

I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!! I have to say that before I got into this forum I hardly ever was online... I have to say thanks again Nic and Seb for bringing us all together...you guys are great :)

I know that the first thing I do when I get online is check the forum here, I always want to know what you guys are saying. I also have to say a special thanks to the regulars, you guys are like my friends now (special *hug* to Liv, you are a good friend :) )

I haven't seen this kind of forum on any other band site and we are lucky...

I also understand how you feel Scott there is nobody here that I can talk to about NewOrder....

AGAIN, LONG LIVE NEWORDERONLINE!!!!!!!!!

See Seb, the power of the site :)

I've never really bothered posting in forums before. This is definitely quite entertaining though, and if we get bored, we could talk about New Order...

I definitly agree too!

There's some chemistry going on, and what I think makes the success of this forum so far, is that, as moderators, we don't mind people talking about other things not related to New Order.

I mean, this is what brought us together here. But our lives and personnalities have many other aspects and this is what makes it all so interesting I think. We can exchange on many different levels, while on other websites or mailing lists, people would be reminded all the time that they have to talk about New Order.

When we launched the forums we labelled the whole thing the "Dry 201 Message Pub", because what I had in mind was a place where you could sit with an ale or a lager in your hand, lay back, and exchange with everyone, just as in a pub. So far, it works perfectly.

My only wish now would be to get 5-6 additional very regular posters/contributors to this forum, from other parts of the world, and a little more from North America. I find it strange that so many of the regulars here are British, while the U.K. people are outnumbered by the U.S. in the Fan Club section.

Seb.

Whilst we do have a good cross section of people here who obviously adore the band what really disappoints me is that the really HARDCORE New Order giggers simply don't post anywhere. I'd love to hear their comments. There's lads attending the forthcoming shows who have notched up close on 100 gigs and I wish one of those lazy sods would get more net friendly. I think the Ceremony list similarly suffers as a result.

Yes, Geoff, I spend far too much time here. But I definitely don't know anyone outside who cares about NO.

... Speaking of Geoff - where are you?

2 - 0 to the Belgies, fucking hell - the good old times are back to Belgian footy. I was going to name a few famous players over the years but could only think of 1... Phillipe Albert.

Marco - 2 - 0 to the Eng-er-land 2 - 0 to the Eng-er-land. Looks like the play-offs for you boys eh!!! (that's if the players can get time off from the old peoples residential home against Fatland).

I'm here, Huntsy boy. But shitloads of work and nothing that asked for my reaction I thought.

As for football, I'm really not into it.

Not speaking much today but I won't miss a thing... :)

Good lad. Respect to your non-football habits... I won't mention it again to you (it is very boring if your not that way inclined).

Work 1st - OrderLine 2nd. I know you won't miss a thing... your response within 3 minutes justified my faith in you.

Keep smiling Klumpster.

Thanx, Huntsy...

Not really bored with football comments... You know, as long as I don't have to watch the matches...

I'm glad you and me get this forum back to live. I think I can have a liitle and hopefully short rest.

2 small cogs in a large locomotive I fear Geoff - all wheels needed to turn the beast each day. We can only do our best.

Eng-er-land!

You Brits make me laff with all your hemorraging over your football team's long-overdue sliver of success.. In Aus, we barely raise an eyebrow when we obliterate you time and time again in all the sports you gave the world (esp cricket, rugby, tennis...) Now take it easy on the Albanian enclave of NewOrderOnline..

;)

Back to NewOrder...

depthcharge, in Blighty, we barely raise an eyebrow when we get obliterated by you time and time again in cricket, rugby, tennis ... Because no one over here gives a flying fig about those games. :p

Now, back to football...

Depthcharge releases his namesake on our moment of celebration and triumph. Fear not he of the missile family - our lack of ability to win anything other than fishcake dancing off the coast of Brighton does not go unnoticed in Blighty. We are busy inventing new games as we speak, so that we can again dominate the world for a few moments.

For now, let us gather and embrace the moment when we crushed the mighty Albania scraping a 2 nil drubbing on home soil.

after summer upon summer of sporting failure-(as you say in OZ you wouldn't know)-please let us enjoy our one big recent sporting success. If nothing else the 5-1 should at least stop the press continuosly going on about 19fuckin66. For a while at least.

Jarvis- I accept your point- it's somewhat akin to the prevailing lack of interest afforded to your roundball shenanigans in this part of the world.. And furthermore, I could not enter any form of serious debate with someone with a 'Patron of the Order' track record such as your good self..

Huntsman- you may well be busy in Blighty concocting new and exciting games but in Aus we have Aussie Rules footy- surely a game so obtuse no one outside of these fair shores has come close to penetrating its beguiling mystique... Failing that, we can also lay claim to cow-pat lotto..

Seb- I was just stirring the Pommy pot a little with my comments.. In actuality it pleases me no end to read of triumphs of the three lions.. Perhaps Kewell, Viduka, Bosnich and co can lead us to a rendezvous with your mob in Nippon 2002...

Bonza, you beaut, etc..

I agree with the comments.... This is a great "community" here.... I have seen it before on Duran sites, but seriously this is the first place i always check out...

My life wouldnt be the same now without my daily dose of Huntsman and the others, and my regular late night chats to April...

This place is as addictive to me, as crisps are to Huntsman...

I agree, and I do miss our chats and your posts. I know that you are back to work and can not stay up until 6am anymore :p

Hope to chat sometime...
