Aside from the 12" and dub versions, do good remixes even exist? Does anyone have one they'd like to share?

I mean, it's one of their most well loved dance tracks... there's gotta be something out there

...thanks.

Besides the various official seven / twelve inch and dub versions there are no official "remixes" of Perfect Kiss in the public domain. For some reason it was never really touched by DJs even in later years (i.e. WFTSC when even EGG and Temptation were given the treatment).

There are a number of cut'n'paste'n'uptempo Razormaid mixes which are for the most part, shite. They're not really remixed, just the sections of the original re-ordered slightly with some cheapo flange effect or whatever here and there.

They're not very good but if you're desperate for a listen I can see my way to an upload.

They're from the following boots: Substance Abuse Out of Order

Wasn't there a remix on some promos for (the rest of)? I remember reading of DJs playing it when this album was released, but it's now 12 years ago, so maybe I mix it up or it got confused with the Cj Bolland mix of Temptation...

I think you are getting it mixed up with the CJ Bolland version of Temptation.

Which is complete shite as well

A fine example of a remixer relying on the original too much...

could be labelled as "sub-culture", "shellshock" or "dream attack" remixed as well and nobody would notice.

Shouldnt be hard. All it would take is for someone to retain the intro and make more of the climax 6 mins in, get rid of the vocal altogether and raise Hooky in the mix.

That extended 10 minute (studio) version is great in itself. Its a remix in itself.

Perfect Kiss is a rather simple track with combined elements, which is the strength of the song. Alone the elements don't really stand alone. The beat is simple and dated with no bass, not much you could do with it except change the beats completely and make it a new song with the vocals laid over it, or the synths, which would be pretty pointless.

One could expand on the "Perfect Pit" short remix track and make that into a hard "Cubik" style techno track. Add the frogs also for the break.

It is strange that it's not been remixed. Maybe it's a too complex and multi-layered thing for your average remixer to contemplate?

Yep!! It's a song that just can't be touched... and shouldn't even be attempted. Its a hundred remixes all in itself. It'd be like a sin to fuck with it. lol

it's not that strange that it hasn't been remixed. its a much more complex song than blue monday with lots of great parts, but if you take those parts of it for a remix, it would be too obscure on its own to be of any reference to the original. sort of like armand van helden's remix of bizarre love triangle, but probably a lot worse.

if anyone wants to try a remix, sure, go for it, but i think that more than likely - it will suck.
