80s... State of the Nation, Shame on the Nation. those serious female vocals sound stupider every year, what a misstep. A lame attempt at a protest song (I think?). Shellshock is a undanceable mess. I think it is suppossed to be a dance song, and a pop song, and everything else they could think of to throw in there hoping you would like something. Maybe likeable in some ways, but a mess.
90s... tracks 6, 7, and 9 off of Republic when Bernard is pretending to be a third Pet Shop Boy or something, can't ever remember those very well. Always have skipped them. If I try to listen to them I always fail to make it thru to the end.
00s... Rock the Shack. Textbook example of a lame attempt of middle aged trying to "rock out" like when he was a kid. Ugh. Run Wild. There may be a decent song buried underneath that mess, but the song makes me cringe. Dracula's Castle. They finished up that track so they could stretch the album into two records and make twice the money. Didn't seem to work out.
Couldn't we have done a bottom 10 instead!

Shit, I love I Told You So - granted it's a bit cheesy - but it's hypnotic and electronic, and has a well nice guitar riff.
I guess anything (bar Paradise) from Brotherhood's rock section would qualify.
Blue Monday 88 is also rubbish. Very fucking rubbish actually. Apart from the sleeve.
This is too hard for me, yeah there are some crappy songs('Rockin' Carol' anyone? 'Let's Go 95, Every Little Counts). It feels uncomfortable to try and list a 'worst 3 songs'

1- Everything that was butchered at the "Monaco" gig last year 2- Everything that was butchered at Scouse in 2006 3- Everything else that was butchered during 2005 and 2006.
The Oakenfold mix of True Faith sounded dated a week after it came out in 94 - sounds ghastly played live.
The current live version of BLT starts like it's going to kick right in like the 12" mix, then it, just.....doesn't - Barney starts singing and it sounds like they're missing a few synths in the mix.
Sounds crap.

I'm surprised so many people dislike State Of The Nation. I do like the vocal melody of the song, but don't like the music much. I still don't think it's one of NO's worst.

Well, the JD version was pretty much an unoffical half arsed cover version live. Velvet Underground was obviously one of their inpirations along side Stooges, Can, etc...

I guess I'd have to hear the original... which I haven't... but the JD version is miles ahead of the NO version... I took one listen and was racing to turn it off.... the JD version isn't all that bad.... but the NO needs to be erased from all memory
Maybe Im in the minority but I prefere Shellshock, State of The Nation and Subculture to anything off Republic and Get Ready (except for Regret and Crystal of course).
My bottom 3 would be something like:

Never really cared for RUINED IN A DAY DRACULA'S CASTLE saved only by Hooky's bass,but still.. SHELLSHOCK ,never warmed to this,it's always sounded like a HEAVEN 17 out-take.

yeah, all my top candidates have already been mentioned. (sadly though, I feel like almost anything from the last two albums is a contender for me)

There's definitely songs i don't like right at the moment, and probably never will, like Chemical and I Told You So, and why did they get Ana Matronic to sing on a piece of shite like Jetstream.
But i think given time some will grow on you, like Every Little Counts, first i was WTF? but know its so hilarious.

Worst single must be shellshock. Spoils substance as without this track surely the best collection of songs ever.
Surprised at some answers, theives like should be top 3 ever not bottom 3. Also I've always loved every second counts and Krafty. Still shows the range of NO music that some fans think what the worst track is whilst others think its the best
All the ones I cant play bass to....no scratch that as it means nearly all of them.
In particular I dislike most of WFTSC except WFTSC and Krafty and I am finding most of the second side of Repulbic hard to listen to.
Some of the singles from 80's such as Shellshock are a musical / production after thought but they remind me of the best years of my life so I love them with a passion.

Quite a few songs I agree with on this thread, some I don't. But "Such a Good Thing"? That is a classic song. Ah well, we can't agree with everyone. That would put the arms dealers out of business wouldn't it. 
Thieves Like Us Krafty & the one with Billy Corgan
dodgy mentions to various of the 1st side of Brotherhood (the out-of-tune sounding guitar-y ones) aren't great, From lowlife: Love Vig, Sooner than you think & Subculture aren't great either.
Why do people dislike "Chemical" so much? Not that it is a great track or anything.
Is it the kinda hard techno sound, and you don't like that? Or that the actual song ends up being so bland in the end, with the techno aspect neutered?
Jetstream - there's a few cracking remixes that redeem it. They really should've rethought that chorus. Oy!

OK.. to clarify this. As a massive fan of electronic music, I was disappointed that the Chems offered a song considerably weaker than 90% of their own output. The New Order contribution sounds tacked on, again poor in its own right. Basically, its two top acts coming together and sounding weaker than if either was on their own. Chart position said it all, it went straight in the top twenty and dive bombed, with hardly any radio play, whereas Crystal got loads. I can also imagine it sounding awful live too, which might be why they never played it.
I would say the opposite about 'Out of Control' though.
Think this topic has been covered before though. It's clearly a marmite track, more loved in USA than here, perhaps cos techno wasnt as big over there.

You argument has many valid points, thou I would not say "Here to Stay" is horrible... it is just kinda boring and mediocre which is a shame, considering the potential.
Don't know why everyone hates Jetstream so much. That Ana's a peach and I fancy her something silly... Agree that Liar's rubbish though. Worst song on their worst album? The fact it's got the same name as a Sex Pistols track is adding insult to injury...

the song is grating and it doesn't age well--i remember liking "touched" when i was about 15 and now it's one of the few songs where to me the vocals cross the line into unlistenable.
But I have to say the video is so hilarious it almost makes up for the song's shortcomings--if you take audio and visual together it becomes tolerable and it therefore doesn't belong on this list.
shellshock may sound outdated now but it captures NO's flirtations with NYC in the 80's perfectly. Great song for the 80's. Shame of the Nation is much more interesting than its sister.

I actually like State of the Nation, and I know a few others here who do (if they are brave enough to admit it). If not for it's lame lyrics, it could have been one of my all-time favorite New Order songs. I think they should've made it an instrumental track. If you like Mr. Disco, then, at least, you like the beat of SOTN.

While I like Mr. Disco, I still cant even admit to liking the beat of State of the nation. The song and video, are almost unbearable for me to take in at once. Yet, i'll admit state is a better live song then shellshock, which sounds ridiculous live. I will however, divulge on the lyrics of state, they're less corny then Shellshocks. But, I suppose to each New Order fan his/her own. After all it's virtually impossible for us all to agree on whats good and whats not, since everyone has their own opinion on a song. For example, I have fond memories with Temptation from substance, therefore I prefer it to the primitive versions. And yes, I'll agree with you lot, who think Rock the shack is crap. I also think Blue Monday '88 is crap, loading samples on a song, and fookin with the bassline is not a remix. And 1963 '94 along with True Faith '94 are absolutely worthless.

"Working Overtime" does have a nice cool Morris beat, and at least doesn't go on too long, unlike "Rock the Shack"
I guess people don't like the jokey Velevet Underground homage lyrics of "Every Little Counts", I think it is playful and the end is kewl.

Shep Pettibones remix of bizarre love triangle is crap, because hooky's bass is...missing. The video version of bizarre love triangle, has the hooky bas sbut the boring slow beat of the shep mix, therefore it's still crap. And the b-side to ruined in a day is absolute crap.
