Apologies if this has been posted before but I just heard this very strange version of Love Will Tear us apart.

Peter Hook can be heard talking about Malcolm McLaren being involved.

Basically it sounds like Joy Division "Unplugged"

Good find Kerry.

Don't like the auto tune on the vocal though, especially when left so open in the mix, great song writing though.

Now get writing some of your own!!

The auto tune, if that's what it is, sounds like a precursor to that dire "Cher" vocal effect that was all the rage a few years back.

And yes, Jed, I will log of NOOL and return to songwriting immediately!!!

Hopefully hooky will open the JD vaults and let us have some rarities instead of the remastered, rehashed CRAP that warners keep putting out! :banghead:

if you can only be so lucky. What warner will do, is upload it to some site, in shite for quality and expect you to pay good money for it.

Was this a potential solo Ian Curtis release?

incredible find. I've already fired up my editing program to incorporate that snip into a mix.

I will always hold out hope that a better version of ceremony exists out there, maybe in Martins burial suit pocket...

A bit unclear about if this is a completely unreleased unheard vocal take or if McLaren used the take that appears on the released version(s) and played about with it

hold on, we need more info about this track.

there was no autotune in 1980. when was this mixed?

sure sounds like it is something redone in the past 10 years from the effects and quality of mix.

i would be really amazed if this is truly from 1980.

who knows more about this track? i heard hook talk about it on the bbc interview, but i don't think he ever said it was from 1980....

One would conclude it's the released vocal played about with years later by McLaren
