I'm having an official mare.

Off to Denmark today for the Roskilde gig, or so I thought. Meself, Al Jarvis & our Pompey mate Gordie were booked onto the 7am flight from Heathrow this morning. They got on it, I didn't. :(

Are you comfortable?, then I'll begin....

To avoid a long cab journey this morning, we booked into a Hotel near the airport last night. Still needed a 4.30am wake up call to get us up & out & at'em, arrived at Heathrow just after 5, everything going swimmingly.

After spending 1/2 hour at a ticket desk getting our tix printed which left us 35 notes lighter each (I'll let Al explain that one), we got to check-in. Then I go through the ritual of, ooh I can't find me passport, ooh here it is. Only, here it wasn't. Fcuk, fcuk, double fcuk.

So after some quick negotiating with the nice Scandanavian Airlines staff I'm switched onto the 5pm flight. It's the only other flight that's available today which will get me there in time and this is assuming I can locate the passport in the meantime. This flight gets into Copenhagen at 8pm, followed by the usual customs bollox & a 1/2 hour cab journey to Roskilde, should get me there in time for when the Order take to the stage at 10pm. No hold-ups permitting.

So, now I'm at home. The pp aint here. I reckon it's on my desk at work. Hmm. Banks arn't easy to break into at weekends . But I know who has the key & the alarm instructions, they are home & waiting for me to collect it.

So that's where I'm at, if it's not on my desk, I'm completely fuct. Means I've dropped it somewhere or whatever. Not convinced this is really worth it to see pretty much the same set I've seen 29 times in the last year.:skeptic:

Just wanted to share my plight with me cyber mates & I'll let yous all know how I get on.

Oh, & whoever said Copenhagen is Wonderful Wonderful can FCUK RIGHT OFF :)

And yes, it was on my desk. Just about enough time to get down to Heathrow again & pick up where I left off at 6 o'clock this morning.

Thanks for the text messages of support, Rocket & Fred West.

Paul, I hope you're right mate, dunno though.

Fcuk me, this has been a stressful day.

Now that is commitment. After seeing them in Dublin with the Giles monster, I wanted to top myself. It was just boring being away from the front. Boring and frustrating. Good luck mark.

my wife worked near roskilde for about a year...(nannying)..she says that there is a big viking site near by so perhaps it would be a good time to bring out the vikings track before the order come on tonight...it would seem appropriate..

Gilesy my old drinking buddy, the only way your weekend could've possibly got off to a worse start was if your beloved team lost its manager and best player...

Ah shite.

Sadly, didn't get near the front in Denmark either.

Well, we did (ish), but not quite right to the front. They had a 'cage' across the front of the stage, which was then divided into subcages, and we were in the one closest to the back. Quite a bizarre set-up. One cage, I can understand, after the deaths during Pearl Jam (was it?), but to then divide this area up again was ridiculous. Meant it couldn't go off anywhere whatsoever.

I actually attended Roskilde in 93 and the site was littered with small 'crash barriers', the like of which you used to get on football terraces (in the good ol' days). Thought they were a bloody brilliant idea at the time, so never really understood how anyone died a couple of years ago? Unless the barriers had been removed by then? Suffice to say, it went off Big Stylee for New Order in 93, probably as much as you'd expect from a UK gig around that period.

Interestingly, or not, Hooky and Barney both had on the exact same t-shirts as they were both wearing at Finsbree. Barney, the WC t-shirt, Hooky the one with the death's head. Funny the shite you notice when you see 'em enough times.

Rio aint going anywhere :nonono: & when we've got Martin O'Neil (thanks Shug) everything will be in Apple Pie order.

You just don't get the same shit up the Arse. ;)

Found out today that the office cleaner found my passport on the floor in the staff room on Friday evening. Recognised my photo & put it on my desk. I would never have looked in the staff room when I came into work on Saturday, so I owe the cleaner one big-time.

Anyway, made it to Roskilde by about 9pm, after a £50 Taxi from the airport (ouch). Saw the Order, So Solid Crew - they are shite - & Primal Scream. Got an 'alright lads' from Hooky at the airport & shared the same flight as them back to blighty, no Barney or Sarge for some reason.

Came home last night having spent less than 24 hours in Denmark but had a good time all the same.

See yous all in Mcr - ticket arrived last week.
