The computerized voice midway through that says "the past doesn't matter"...did NO create that or was it sampled from somewhere?

Q: What is sung in the middle of the song? A: As always, no one really knows, but an issue of "Smash Hits" suggests that the lyric goes like: "acid man said acid man said acid man said acid box it man". Other suggestions are: "man, acid man, box it man, acid man", "ec-sta-sy, ec-sta-sy", and "the past doesn't matter".
Q: Who sings the deep-voice part? A: It is Bernard with an effects processor.
Personally, I'd always thought he said "Ecstasy Addict" which would have fitted in with the whole theme of the song... However, manipulating it in a wav editor, and it does kinda resemble "the past doesn't matter"...

Didn't Sumner say 'ecstasy' when this part of FineTime was played at Reading in 1993? I think I remember this from the bootleg 'electronic ecstasy', if I'm not completely mistaken. I always considered the sample to be a kind of anagram of 'ecstasy' anyway... ...but who am I to talk as not being a native speaker!:)
