Bernard and The Exorcist

Hello everyone, here’s a question someone might be able to answer. Years ago Bernard appeared on a TV show with the spiky-haired bloke from The Prodigy. He said that New Order once sampled a bit of dialogue from The Exorcist – specifically ‘your mother sucks c***s in hell’. I have a feeling it might be on the B-side of The Perfect Kiss, but am clutching at some very large straws. Does anyone know what track he’s referring to? Or did he just make it up? Or did I dream it one night?

Don't Do It - b-side to Fine Time vinyl

the sample is played backwards at the very end of the track.

That was on Jo Whiley's TV show, around the time of 'Twisted Tenderness' being released. He appeared on the sofa with Keith Flint and Jarvis Cocker and as I remember, was quite rude to both of them.

I remember he told the hairy-toed one, his sole reason for New Order splitting up before was the way Hooky sucked his fingers after eating a packet of crisps.

Thanks chaps, most helpful.

Yes I remember the crisps comment. I think he made some disparaging remarks about Essex to Keith Flint, though I'd be interested in how he was rude to Jarvis Cocker.

I think he made a couple of comments to Jarvis about the way he "dresses like a tramp". At the time, Bernard was wearing a snazzy suit but odd-looking brown shoes. I think Jarv was wearing this awful tweed number with no shirt and he also had sandals on. It was something along those lines IIRC.

Ha! Well, Jarvis Cocker can be a scruffbag it has to be said. Although judging by Bernard's shorts, white socks and black shoes combination in one of the Glasgow DVD clips, he's had some previous in this area as well...
