Daz has secured Salford band Hanky Park to play at RATR who will be featuring a guest appearance on bass of Joy Division/New Order legend Peter Hook. Tickets for RATR always sell out and each show the sell out as gotten faster and faster. So don't miss out and make sure you get your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Talk about being bottom of the bill!

Maybe I should do this as a seperate thread but i can't be arsed. A new book- Blue Monday by Nikki French came out earlier this month. It's some kind of mystery thriller about a record company and how all their profits seemed to disappear into thin air. Or something. http://www.penguin.co.uk/nf/Book/BookDisplay/0,,9780718154950,00.html

Yes, I also heard Hellsbollocks at this time, I was dropping the missus off at the railway station. Richard Allinson said that, "...if you don't have any New Order records in your collection then Total is the one to buy," which, as much as I like Allinson, I found garbage.

Received a PB [Pottery Barn] Kids catalogue in the post the other day (no idea how we got on that mailing list)... and the one clearly visible record sleeve in the boys' 'cool lounge' photo was the Fine Time 12-inch. Nice.

Watched Lemmy The Movie last night (BBC 4 - Dont ask, pissed). Up popped Hooky! Gave a nice little anecdote about when they were recording P,C & L. The band in the studio before them were Motorhead and, breaking with traditional politeness they didnt leave the all the knobs and settings at neutral, they fucked off and left them as they'd used them. At first Hookster was "Twats" until he discovered which band it had been then he desided to try Lemmys bass settings (Hoping for a new sound?).

It sounded "Fucking shit".

Watched the movie 'Unkown' last night with Liam Neeson doing some undercover agent action in Berlin. In a scene they hide in a club and Blue Monday gets played out loud..

Nice..:thumb:

Shit, just noticed that Shug mentioned this also already a few posts back..

Sorry for the double-post.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, as it was a repeat, but I'm not sure when from, but there was a programme on Radio 5 Live last night about football and music, with an attempt to create a decent song featuring only the musical talents of footballers, featuring an interview with Hooky reminiscing on the genesis and recording of WIM... From memory the Hookster appears just past the half hour mark... Listen...

I thought someone would have beat me to it again, JD on country file yesterday, during the bit about hill racing, a car was involved so they probably asked the top gear guy what to play!
