Question on Pointless very addictive BBC1 quiz. Format is sort of anti Family Fortunes, 100 people asked to name x and lowest correct score wins. "Name a top 40 song with the word Monday in the title." Blue Monday was 3rd most popular I think. Also legendary programme for losers like me as one other question was about Mercury music winners when co host Richard confirmed he was the brother of Suede bass player Matt which I assumed was an urban myth.

Charity shop on Alderley Edge high street displaying Confusion 12" for 99p in shop window. Some great vinyl and dvd's. Unwanted culture from households of the rich and famous. Bernard no doubt have clocked it. Maybe even Hooky too. Not quite as bad as the bargain bin though.

Saturday night I was at a bar in Brooklyn, and the DJ played the dance mix of WFTSC and about 30 gay guys were dancing to it and they knew all of the words!

It was at Union Pool, which is a really popular bar in Williamsburg, big art and music crowd there and Andy Rourke Dj's there a lot.

There are also usually a lot of dumb hipsters there but the music is very good, always a lot of New Order, Happy Mondays, Acid House,Talking Heads, DFA, and Euro disco stuff being played.

Was really cool to see people dancing enthusiastically to one of the best late period NO songs.

Dropped my daughter off at local train station Monday morning at same time as Bernards wife dropping their girl off. She mentioned that he had set off for Brussels on the Sunday and was very much looking forward to the gigs.

Must say the footage on you tube looks fantastic and as much as I admire Peters contribution over the years, New Order move on.

I was just flicking through the chanels and I thought it was The Lights primetime debut!

But then I would, wouldn't I?

Funny because it's clear that there exist a lot of really precious JD fans who would be absolutely mortified by witnessing such a sacrilegious desecration (in their eyes) of the legacy of Ian Curtis blah blah blah..... and that's what tickles me all the more.

Harry Hill is a closet indie head (Smiths, The Fall, New Order and Happy Mondays are four of his favourite bands), and not many people know that.

He got found out.

He is the presenter of River Cottage on C4.

All these years everybody thinking that Harry Hill and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall were two completely different people on the telly .... and it was Harry Hill all along, in a curly wig.

Only now, after the curly wig has been cut somewhat shorter is the truth beginning to emerge.

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is none other than Harry Hill's culinary alter ego.
