So I have been thinking for a while. For JD to tour the US back in 1980, there has got to be flyers, pamphlets on the Stateside promoting the band. And it was supposed to be nation wide, coast to coast tour.
Are there any known leftover posters, flyers, pamphlets or and ad in a music magazine, even a radio clip where the host promoted the tour? Perhaps a then disappointed fan might have something to share.
PS: I am not looking to own any of these. Just curious to know if they exist.

to think that they were so close to coming to toronto...i was only 8 at the time so I would not have been let in but still...
it is so strange, despite all the press cutting books full of joy division epitaphs, despite all the official joy division rerelease booklets etc, despite the intensely honest books like Deborah's.....
nothing put a shudder up my spine like seeing those empty US flyers reading "joy division has been cancelled"
after 20+ years of following them, and then seeing those ticket scans, i feel completely fuckin numb.
wait until you see stuff like this, a list of clothes they bought for the tour only three days earlier.
It;s a shame it never happened, they would have cleaned up here dudes, i think we understand JD in the US a lot more than you crazy Brits. Ian could've been president instead of that crazy Obama dude who's gonna be assasinated by some dumb redneck! Holler!!!

I've always wondered what would have become of Joy Division had they come through America and had Ian remained as the lead. NYC definitely had an effect on New order and would forever leave an imprint on them and Manchester. I wonder what Joy Division would have sounded like after a post America tour?
they would have turned into something like A Certain Ratio and put out 2 more records and then faded into obscurity.
