Ideas for the site?

In lieu of any real developments (after the remasters, there will be fuck all), they'll be nothing for us to bitch about, other than pointless lists and differing opinions on which version or which gig is best etc etc.

Using our various contacts, how about a series of interviews with people who have worked with New Order in the past?

We could call it 'Perspectives' or some shit like that, and include producers, DJs, and other bands who have some connection with the band.

I thought of this when I put forward Martin Buttrich's EGG remix as NO's best, as I'd like to get Buttrich's Perspective (see, it works) on how he approached the mix, and how he felt about New Order - fave tracks etc, influence.

It would give the site a new leash of life, and actually be quite interesting.

Shall we start a list?

Remember, despite painfully imploding and being incredibly frustrating, this band changed music, and are incredibly influential. We shouldn't lose sight of this, and through this site, we could celebrate this fact. I'd be interested to hear other people's views

I think thats a splendid idea, breathing some life into this forum with the creativity that attracted us to this site.

I can sum up the bottom line of all of these possible interviews:

"They were innovators, they fused dance music and rock before anyone else dared to and they did it jolly well etc..."

The website will stagger along as an item of curiosity until NO belligerently reform for 'one last (pension boosting) gig' and a mini album of WFTSLeftOvers appears on IChoons and as a Ltd edition Vinyl print... NOOL will then shine brightly and briefly for one last time.

Then again, I am a bit dfrunk!!!

this is the same thing that happened after 'substance' when they split up...[or maybe that was the mailing list]..

and also again, after 'republic'...

not one thing is going happen..

people are still going to come here..

people that don't know about 'new order'

people wondering what they're up to..

people wondering when they will tour..

people wondering when the next album will come out..

not a thing is going to change..

however, at least we'll know about their side projects..

I'd be a bit skeptical how exactly an interview with Martin Buttrich, for example, would invigorate the site (no offence to Mr B).

Yes, i guess we'd always have the usual platitudes, but it could throw up new insights, and anecdotes, and....

I'm a bit of a techy, and I like to hear about how tracks were made, and the inspirations behind it. I like to read this stuff. It's just another angle isn't it?

If this was to work then it'd be good to do something along the line of a webchat, but a bit more pre-prepared.

A thread could go up asking what questions we'd like to ask Barney, Arthur B, W.Hoever...

Then the powers that be could try to approach that person re; willingness to participate and the potential Q's.

Then a short list of the Q's could be drawn up using a NOOL poll.
