So the reissues look pretty good, and I'm excited to hear the re-mastering job (the original CDs always sounded like crap in comparison to the vinyl).
But, I've got a few questions/comments/concerns, as I'm sure most fans who are familiar with this discography will...
The Movement bonus disc looks like the best of the bunch. I always thought that this would have been a much better album if they had included some of the singles from this era. But I have to ask, where is the 7" of "Temptation"? And what the heck is the "Alternate 12 inch" version of "Temptation"? I'm only familiar with one 12 inch version. Also, just including the 7" version of "In a Lonely Place" is doing that song a great dis-service, by fading out before Hooky's great bass work comes in.
Glad to see that "Blue Monday" is not on the PC&L main disc, as it always has been in the US. But oddly, "State of the Nation" is tacked on the end of "Brotherhood," as the original CD did. I would think that goes on the bonus disc.
Hopefully the 12" version of "Perfect Kiss" is finally the full 8:47 version, not just the 8:12 version on Substance.
And speaking of Substance, are they not going to remaster either the JD or NO Substance? I realize that a lot of the songs from Substance are spread out amongst the NO reissues, but Substance could use a decent-sounding remaster itself. The last version actually sounded worse than the '80s CD version.
In any case, I'm excited for the releases and re-visiting all those great albums in (hopefully) improved sound.
