I know I know, you will all think another topic regarding Fine Time. But this time I don't want to know what Barney is singing or why there are sheep in this song... I just would like to know more about this different 7" edit I got for a long time, Fine Time (Seven Inch Version).

I read somewhere that the regular/commercial 7" releases have a matrix number A² ver #1. Perhaps this could have been matrix A¹ ver #1 or A² ver #2? I have never found another pressing with this version... or maybe it has ended up on some Canadian, Bolivian or South African promo 7"... :confused2:

I got this version already since the early 90's and it was only a few years ago I noticed it was different (most of the time I skipped this song...)

the discography at niagra suggests this:

7": US 1988 (Qwest PRO-S-3450) [white label promo] 10": US 1988 (Grudman PRO-S2-3450) [one sided acetate] 3:08 Fine Time (7" version)

could that be it?

I don't have these US promos/acetates, so I cannot tell... the length is the same though.

FAC223-12"(UK) version has unique guitar part (time 1'17"-1'19"). It's NOT a mis-pressing!

Isn't this the same version as the one on the Canadian cd-maxi? Actually 'we' knew already the Original 12" Version is slightly different compared to the Album Version... but thanks!

I have the Canadian CD-maxi (827 277-2). Just checked it. It's not same as 12" version. so, I think the 12" version is not on any CDs.

http://www.niagara.edu/neworder/singles/ft.html CD5: CA 1988 (PolyGram 827 277-2) 4:42 Fine Time + <---- Mis-label 4:30 Don't Do It 4:43 Fine Line 6:15 Fine Time (silk mix) 4:35 Fine Time (messed around mix)

  • Actually "Fine Time (7" version)" (3:10)
