Bonus CD track listing

According to wrong tracklistings on the so called "remastered" (!) bonus discs (for example True Dub, Beach Buggy for which they indeed used the dub version of Blue Monday '88 and NOT the real Beach Buggy on the bonus disc), something reminds me of what I read in Claude Flowers book New Order + Joy Division - Dreams Never End from 1995:

Page 91: "A remixed version of 'Touched By The Hand Of God' was issued by Factory as a single, backed with a dub version on the vinyl record; a remix of the new 'Confusion' and, accidentally, the Substance rendition of 'Temptation' on the CD. According to Tony Wilson, the compact disc was supposed to include the original version of 'Temptation', but, "Some moron had actually put the new version on it. I gave up."

Maybe that same 'moron' is now working for London records ... :nod:

The Beach Buggy mis-label is a mistake carried over from the original Factory Blue Monday 1988 CDv single. Track 2 is listed as Beach Buggy but in actual fact is the BM 88 dub.

As I said in another Reissues thread; nice touch in carrying over the original Factory track listing errors too! Some dedication. Or not.

True Dub is a biggest fuck up on the Brotherhood CD2 and sounds completely out of place (a 1994 remix amongst 1986-88 tracks); goes without saying they should have stuck the Pettibone one on instead.

Still, it's nice having the mythical Eschreamer Dub in a good enough quality.

Don't think i've ever heard Blue Monday 88 dub .Ain't listened to Beach Buggy for years and years.

It was bloody annoying back then when i bought the TBTHOG CD single for "Temptation Original" only to get the Substance version.They should have stuck Confusion 87 dub on the remasters somewhere.

But people can bitch about the half-arsed attitude and laziness can't they? New Order deserves a little more respect. From a largely pointless mix tape approach to a box set to B-side extra discs that nobody bothered to proofread...
