Giggs Will Tear You Apart

It's not April 1st, is it?

Hooky's recent blog mentions that he's done a cover of LWTUA with the words that United fans have been chanting. It was to be used in a DVD about Ryan Giggs, the 'Welsh' soccer footballer. Touchingly, it was completed too late to go on the DVD. Nice nod to Factory tardiness there.

Hooky claims to have agonised over it, and he seems to have considered the main issues: namely that the bloke who wrote it was a Manchester City fan and that it's in utterly shit taste. It's unlikely to get much radio play though, so will be easy to avoid so fair play I suppose.

This quote says it all:

Now as you know I'll do anything, ……and as mani says "we're all prostitutes hooky, but if they're ugly we want more money!" I do try and stick to that!

Me too, Hooky, me too.

What i found a weird thing to read in the blog is that he called in the help of Phil where as the other two didn't want to do it...is this the one and only Phil C.?

And does this mean he actually spoke to Bernard and Stephen about doing this track???:confused2:

I don't know about it being "completed too late" to be included on the DVD (as the original post stated in May) - I watched it last night and it includes footage from as recently as mid-August. I'm sure I heard snippets of an updated LWTUA (well, certainly not original) in the background at one point, it wasn't very loud though and didn't feature any lyrics.

EDIT - ignore the bit about May/August - I read 10/05/2008 as 10th May, not 5th October

there is a bit of lwtua used in the dvd.. but there is an actual full song of giggs will tear you apart that was played at the premiere but isn't on the dvd itself.

For balance, they should have put the City Ryan Giggs song on there too
