I just the trailer for the american release of 24 Hour Party People off the apple website. I was so overjoyed with excitement, I nearly fell out of my chair. I really like this version of the trailer, more New Order songs in the background, more clips from the movie. It gave me more of an idea of what to expect than the trailer off the FHM site. I know most of you guys overseas have seen it already, and it's probably not that great of a movie, but I've been anxiously waiting to watch this film since they first announce that they were going to make the film. I just hope it makes it to the baltimore/washington area.

is it being released in canada? i checked out the imdb site...and there seems to be no release date for canada...if this is true...then it freaking sucks.

Nice trailer, didn't hear Here To Stay, I wonder if they will do a US release for the single.

Anyhow, I doubt I will like that movie, don't ask me why, the previews don't attrack me at all, and I'm a big movie fan. I WILL watch it for my personal culture and by obligation and I will buy the DVD probably, but I seriously doubt that I will like that movie!

Don't be too pessimistic...it's a great film. Granted there is not much New Order in it, but then the film isn't actually about New Order!!

For what it's worth I thought the film was going to be very disappointing. Instead, it was one of the best films about music I have ever seen. Truly a moving experience which actually manages to convey the atmosphere of the time, you actually believe the characters and the settings ... excellent.

'Here to State' is only played at the end of the film. Incidentally, although there isn't a great deal of NO in the movie, there is a lot of Joy Division and members of the NO band actually appear quite regularly throughout. The film focuses on the more intriguing aspects of the Factory story thus the more popular NO moments are overlooked for obvious reasons. Most notable exclusion is the decision not to play Blue Monday.

Go see it (Nick) and keep an open mind.

I know I will, I just have to drag Sébastien with me, I doubt my girlfriend (or should I say "bird") will be able to understand a thing with the british accent :D

well...if it's showing in Dallas or Houston, I'm sure I'll try to get around to seeing it...or maybe take a few days off to go to LA...maybe...or maybe I'll just pick up the DVD...

I have to say I think they've done a good job with the trailer. No surprises they've put Blue Monday as the main NO track in it; it'll probably get all the Orgy fans along. Given most Americans will not have heard of Manchester they had a lot to pack in to get the idea of the movie across. I have to say it made me want to see it again and I've seen it 3 times.

Actually if all the reviews in the US are as good as this one from Rolling Stone then the film will be a monster!

I just went to the official US site for the movie. I went to the theater link to see where it will be playing. I can understand that is an limited release, but looking at the theater list, it looks a little too limited. I hope this is not the complete list, it does not look like it will be playing in the baltimore/washington area, in fact it looks like it is only city it will be playing on the east coast is New York City! Not playing in baltimore I can understand, it just a second tier city, but DC! how can it not be playing in DC? they even have Indianapolis on the list! I dunno, maybe I'm overreating, but I've been waiting to see the film for awhile, and it looks like I will have to make a trip somewhere to see it.
