from a guess it'll be 1986 and somewhere in Cheshire (conveniently near either Macc or Alderley Edge).

I love the body language in this pic.....Hooky looks so confident whereas Barney seems a bit timid.

for the first time ever!! I AGREE!

but then hooky always does, and I think it's probably more of an act from both, Hooky likes to act hard, and for all I know could well be, but is the most open and passionate member of the band, whereas barney always acts like he's vulnerable and wishes he didn't have the fame, but from comments others have made, is quite egotistical and tries very hard to force his way with the band, hence the fall outs.

BTW, it's taken in 1984 near a castle.

There was never a doubt in my mind that Barney was the leader of the band, the one that likes to impose his ideas on the rest of the group. That does not mean that when taking a picture, such a person will look confident. Barney is just a more private person and won't show it to the world, but within his own environment is most probably someone with a big ego.

I love the picture BTW, I never see enough pictures of New Order as oppose to Joy Division. Why isn't this site has more pictures and also of better quality?

i've always wondered the same thing.

also, i like some of the banners at the top, most of which are a nice touch, but i totally dislike the ones of the cover/tribute bands. sorry, but are the non-new order/joy division shots necessary?

true, barny is defo a leader, whereas hooky is an objector, but a team needs all kinds of people to work.

I think one of the best photo's is the one from q magazine from around 1987, all the band in the rehearsal room, playing guitar or bass, even steve, and all having a laugh, they look like they were still getting on a that point, but then I thought they were still getting on when they did technique, but apparently not.

Just had a google for the pic but can't find it, I'm sure someone will post it though.

I feel exactly the same way. The most frustrating thing about this site is that some of the banners are really nice, yet the full pictures are not available for us to see or download.
