Pitchfork reviews the reissues

In the reviews there isn't a single complaint about sound quality. The review's overwhelmingly positive.
I know the reviews are glowing, but for something as old and well-known as these albums, I'd be willing to bet they weren't listened to from start to finish.
All I know is, I had it confirmed by someone who works with Rhino that they would be using the same audio and print files as the UK issues (they would have had to - there wasn't time to fix everything and redo them, they would have had to start manufacturing these weeks ago to get them in stores by tomorrow), we know London owned up to them being faulty, we know Hooky claimed he would sort it out, but we've not had anyone step forward and say "these have been fixed." There hasn't been enough time to fix them. I'd be willing to stake money that these are exactly the same.
If your reviewing them for the music only then they deserve the marks they got. Five classic albums.
The 5 remasters are finally available on iTune Belgium since today. I just bought Sunrise for a quick check and the sound drop is still there. So, even for an mp3 electronic release they've been unable to correct the mistakes in more than one month.

if they're out next week then they are 100% guaranteed not to have been fixed. It will take until the new year to sort them out.

Sumner is on one of his yachts off the coast of Italy checking his website that shows how many euros are going into his bank account every time Regret is played in grocery stores and shopping malls.
The only way this would get sorted out is if someone cared, and if people weren't actually buying them.
But, according to Pitchfork, everyone should be buying them.
Go buy them.
Help out Warners and help get Sumner a bigger yacht.

I don't really want to say too much but I do know that the band and management DO care and are working on fixing them all.
As I mentioned elsewhere (and you'll see it on another thread) stocks are drying up as they are not pressing up more until they're fixed (in the UK - don't know what's happening elsewhere).
Just wait and see, though you won't see anything before Christmas.
dammit.. I gotta hold off buying the remasters until V2 comes out then. IF they come out. Shame.. what does this mean for those who've already bought them though?

Thanks for this. However it would be nice if the band and management were a bit more communicative about it. It would certainly help stop the moaning.
Well, according to those US fans who've replied in the log thread (above), the US remasters have exactly the same errors as the UK ones...
Goes without saying that this was a huge fuck up although I'm glad steps are being taken to rectify hopefully all of the glaring audio errors not to mention the track mislabels.
I'll be curious to see how they address the problem that the majority of us have paid the best part of £75 for all five dodgy deluxe editions and are well past the point of being able to refund them. As much as I love the band's back catalogue we can't be expected to simply shell out another £75 for a set of corrected ones.
Will there be some sort of trade in system implemented? I'd gladly post these glorified beer coasters back to Warners in return for a corrected set. I'm sure just about everyone here would be willing to trade their dodgy copies in.
I think the band and Warners really need to tread carefully here. Singles was a bit of a disaster sound quality-wise and these remasters have been very poorly received by the fanbase... if they correct them they will have to be completely and utterly corrected this time.
Not just fresh vinyl transfers (cheeky).
pitchfork picks up on the glitches, getting snarky about "diehard" fans who demand "superlative audio quality" and complain about "perceived" errors. i'd say anybody who paid for the remasters - superfan or not - would be unhappy with obviously glitch-riddled audio.
New Order Camp Addresses Reissue Grievances
For some of us, it's enough to simply bask in the new wavey warmth of New Order's finest recorded moments, many of which found their way onto Rhino's recent spate of expanded reissues. But for a certain type of New Order fan, superlative audio quality is a must, and-- oh yeah-- it would be nice if all the tracks were correctly labeled, too.
Turns out there are quite a few of these diehard fans out there, and they were none too happy with the way the deluxe editions of Movement, Power, Corruption & Lies, Low-Life, Brotherhood, and Technique turned out. They started a message board thread on the matter, compiling some 300 perceived errors between the 10 discs in the five packages, ranging from audio glitches and pops and crackles to sleeve note slip-ups to tracks on the bonus discs being flat-out mislabeled. Yikes.

So there you have it, at least until that "further statement" arrives. As for me, I might just hang on to these inferior versions in the hopes they one day become ultra-rare collectors' items I can sell to put my kids through college.

I e-mailed Pitchfork and linked them to this site the day after their review came out. I'm sure other people did, too.
everyone should keep these cd's as they will become collector's item's LOL - any news on fixing the problem with THAT JD live box set
